Kuwait Quotidian, Vol. 1

Kuwait: On The Radio…

1

There’s a reason why 99.7 is still the best pop radio station in Kuwait.

That’s is not saying much, though.

My friend turned it on just because I didn’t feel like reaching for my iPod.

“Life Is Sweet” by Natalie Merchant was on.

A song I featured a couple of months ago.

It’s a breath of fresh air.

All the arabic stations, TV or Radio, mistake pop for poop.

I don’t want to listen to Akon. I am done with Fergie Ferg.

It wouldn’t hurt to look into other kinds of music every once in a while.

Some Brandy Will Do

So, she killed an Arab woman.

And she hosted the horrible America’s Got Talent.

The new album is titled Human.

It will be out November 11th.

The first single is “Right Here (Departed).”

Radio is not playing it.

So, the album might not be her comeback.

However, it should.

Moreover, the belt is electrofabulous.

Kuwait: Don’t Come Around Here No More

I don’t know why KUNA bothers to have a tourism section.

Unless it’s about people leaving the country.

It’s always devoid of any atricles. Sitting there, making me wait.

This dependancy on oil has made us forget its timeliness.

True, tourism is not as lucrative as the oil industry.

But, it has the potential of obtaining soft power.

And that, money can’t buy.

What  happened to Failaka/Ikarus?

Fashion Is Our Passion: American Apparel Goes To Afrika

Glad to see AA straying from their usual plains.

Still, there’s more to Africa than zebra prints.

Africa has 53 countries, almost a billion people.

It’s the second largest continent on this green earth.

Surely, AA can come up with more than that.

I am looking forward to the elastic veils.

That is not to deter from the fact that I am AA’s third biggest fan.

Their skinny jeans make my bum look good.
