This has to be the best political commentary about the elections I have heard in a while. Even if this is old, it still rings true to the times. She is always so profound and succinct.
Working on the last compilation of the year…
8
I am currently putting the final touches to the last new compilation of the year. It’s called Reflect and it is fun pop and lush. Last time I got really heavy and some of the queens didn’t like it. But, it was where I was at. Now I am in party mode again and this is a reflection of my mood and the closing of this year. I won’t be able to post it here, but if you want it email me or comment on here. I just finished the cover, which I like. The track list will follow shortly.

1Kuwait Crime: The sex slaves of Khaitan…
Billiard hall ‘sex slaves’ freedKUWAIT CITY: Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant, securitymen raided a billiard hall in Khaitan and arrested a Kuwaiti man for having forced sex with five Indonesian girls “he had locked in an apartment and made them work in the hall,” reports Al-Rai daily. A police source said the man admitted to buying the Indonesians from an Asian man. All the five Indonesians reportedly ran away from their sponsors and the owner of the billiard hall kept them locked in an apartment. He allegedly used to visit them early mornings.
This doesn’t make sense. First, they were imprisoned in an apartment then they were freed in the billiard hall? Second, erm… where did he buy them from? Third, why do we need to know he visited them in the morning? Morning wood? Finally, the real case here is that he raped them. No?

Alesha Dixon debuts next single…
She’s really talented at lip-syncing. I don’t think it’s a good single choice for the UK charts. She needs to get the Freemasons remix up on it. Or it will murmur down near the 75th position.

Brandy’s “Long Distance”
High off the heels of “Right Here (Departed),” Brandy is churning out the singles to promote Human. Here she is looking luscious on the cover of her next single “Long Distance,” which looks better than the album cover. Well, anything looks better than that album cover. Had it not been for Girls Aloud’s disastrous album, it would have gotten the title if worst album cover of the year. As for the song, it is “make it or break it.” Brandy is trying to make another “Full Moon.” Going to the length of getting the same video maestro for the same feel. There’s something epic about the song, but then there something missing and I can’t put my finger on it. But, other tracks on the album sound very promising like “1st & Love” and “Piano Man.”

The fiercest album cover this year…
4Video: Caravan Girl by Goldfrapp…
Record companies no longer spend any money on videos. As you can see. But, if you are going to release a concept album that is so different from your previous work, you should at least work on packaging it well. This album was, by far, the worst Goldfrapp album, but the singles were not so bad. They all got lackluster videos and, as a result, measly airplay.

Fashion Is Our Passion: Purple box…
Since the season to be jolly is coming around, shops are starting to get creative. I was looking for scarfs when I found this little box compiled by Start London for people too lazy to do it themselves. I think the watch is great too. Here’s what it contains:
