I am boycotting the greatest hits album. She had three studio albums before it, I have all of them. “Keeps Gettin’ Better” is a farce. “Dynamite” is lackluster. Notice the fake laugh at 1:07.
I dislike artists who re-invent themselves for the sake of re-invention. I remember when it was attributed to the evolution of an artist and not merely to keep it interesting. Her jab at Lady GaGa was uncalled for:
“You know, that’s funny that you mention that. This person [Lady Gaga] was just brought to my attention not too long ago. I’m not quite sure who this person is, to be honest. I don’t know if it is a man or a woman. I just wasn’t sure. I really don’t spend any time on the Internet, so I guess I live a little under a rock in that respect.“
You want to re-invent yourself? Get a laptop. “Male or female?” Why does that matter?
I am not a big GaGa fan and I personally think that her brand of pop is not that unique. I mean, it’s good old electronica mashed up with some R&B elements for the American market. But, at least she is trying something new. “Keeps Gettin’ Better” is just dated and sounds too similar to Goldfrapp’s “Strict Machine,” which was sexy five years ago:
What Christina needs to do now is to get out of her concept album binge and get back to vocal acrobatics and beautiful poppery, a la Stripped.
Please Lady Gaga isn’t even original. Her style is jacked from so many people. Like David Bowie, Kylie Minogue, Gwen Stefani, and Peaches. But the main person she rips off is Roisin Murphy who has been doing that look for awhile and does it way better. Lady Gaga is a cheap K-mart version of Roisin Murphy. It’s funny that you can blog on Aguilera ripping off Lady Gaga’s style. But yet when it comes to Lady gaga ripping off others like Roisin you can’t be bothered to blog about it. You choose to ignore it as if it isn’t true. When hello there’s proof. So why don’t you start calling out Lady Gaga for her stealing other people’s style and claming it as her own.

Christina has so much potential but she’s so pretentious that she always falls short. Ten years and all you’ve done is three studio albums? Genie 2.0 is good stuff and hopefully points towards the direction she’ll take on her new album next year.
