“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you.”
-Winnie The Pooh
SiA is just all kinds of greatness all wrapped in one cute person. She puts the form back in performance. I like her music and her personality, from the interviews I have seen. I hope she gets back in the studio real soon.
What a great concert it was! I know that because there wasn’t anything to the concert other than the songs and a bunch of big screens with forgettable visuals, but the music sufficed to overcome all that. Alicia did her thing and she did it well. It sounded very much like her Unplugged. Then George came on and did some singles from his impressive catalogue. The audience didn’t stop dancing and we were always gripped to his performance. I was saddened everytime he thanks people for the past 25 (or is it 27?) years. It was his farewell tour. I hope he defines “farewell” like Cher. Anyway, I heard his new Christmas song. It’s blah, but if it gets him back in the studio then that’s enough. He is such a great pop songwriter. Don’t go away!
A must-watch. Yes! Yes! Yes! Brandy is pulling all the right strings for Human. Great first single. Epic ballad for the second single. And all the tracks on there that I have heard are perfect. One track, “1st & Love,” is fasting climbing my year-end charts. I hope the reception for it is good. Brandy has long been a fan of Coldplay and I think she borrowed some elements from their first album Parachutes for the chorus of this song.
Sweet song. Not a very well thought-out single choice. Overdone video. Swoonable.
I’ve been having trouble lately with compiling music. Not because I am out of material or anything. But, because I find my taste shifting a little, but there is pressure to satisfy the listener, on my part. I think the new one is really good, if I may say. But, I would much rather do ones that are like the November one. I can listen to almost every song on that one. This one is fun and hyper and will satisfy the queendom. But, it might get old fast. Still, I always put songs that I like to a certain degree, so it works. For me at least. Tell me what you think.
