According to Amelle, Sugababes are apparently going right back to the studio to record another album on the week their second single is released. There will be no tour and they will concentrate on making the next album a hit. The album wasn’t really given a chance by the public. Maybe it was the single choices, the blazé videos, the rushed release, the uninviting cover, or the looming Girls Aloud cloud. In any case, I am sure there are pop gems to discover deep in Catfights & Spotlights.
From DigitalSpy: “Sugababes star Amelle Berrabah has confirmed that the group will be too busy to tour next year.
The singer revealed that she and her fellow bandmates have decided to start work on their seventh studio album rather than going on the road with Catfights and Spotlights, their latest offering.
“Even now, we love what we do, and touring is one of our favourite things in the year, and we look forward to it. We’re having a couple of months off next year as well, and we’re taking a good year to write the next album, as we just want to concentrate on it,” Berrabah told Clickmusic.
She added: “It’s sad that we’re not doing a tour – I even put forward to do a couple of days or something. It might go ahead, but at the minute it’s not looking like it’s going to happen.”
Keisha Buchanan recently announced that the group will be working on their next album with top US producers.”
“Keisha Buchanan recently announced that the group will be working on their next album with top US producers.” This is exactly what I was afraid of. Klas Ahlund did an amazing job producing C&S and now the likes of Timbaland and Sean Garrett will possibly taint their image for me.
Speaking of American producers, have you heard Michelle Williams’ album? It is really good. I was very surprised that I loved almost the whole album. It’s all in the vein of Beyonce’s Sweet Dream/Radio, the producers behind those two tracks worked extensively on MW’s album.
