India Arie leaves another message…

n24525086912_1529206_1962“We are one day closer to my album release and I’m getting more excited every day…less than 2 weeks NOW! On this project I got to work with some of the most amazing artists and musicians. I thought I would tell you just a little about some of the guests whom were gracious enough to record with me. Two of the songs are already out…so you might know about them! LOL. I was joined by my friend Musiq Soulchild on the single “Chocolate High.”

Movie: The Reader (2008)

reader_ver2 The Reader is a story of love and guilt. Centered around post-World War Germany. The plot, which is adopted from a book, revolves around the main character who fall for a woman twice his age after she helps him when he was to sick to get home. Once the Scarlett fever diminishes, the affluent main character revisits Kate Winslet’s dainty apartment to thank her, only to embark on a passionate love affair.

When the sexual passion develops into heavy emotional baggage, she runs away leaving him with a broken heart and an inability to love again.

Music for February: Synthosium

9

synthosiumThis time around, I opted for the different route. I shed some pop pride and got with the experimentalists. This is the driest of my compilations, not in a bad sense. More like sun-dried. Initially, I did a very moody chillout compilation and then I decided to shelf it (perhaps for March). After being unsure about it (and a little advice from friends), I decided to make February up and rocky. There’s a huge element of electro-clash, some folktronica and an on-going, but not singular theme of everything synth. Whether it was synthpop or some twangs of freakbeat. This compilation is not for everybody, especially those used to a pop template, but it is surely a grower, at least for me. It’s a great get-up-and-go kind of compilation. I hope you like and, of course, feedback’s always welcome.

Annie will get released, finally

1

annie_dontstop_coverEnd of April is the release date for Annie’s troubled Don’t Stop, which has been leaked a long time ago. I think they shouldn’t bother unless they add or change around the tracks and remove the horrid “What Do You Want (The Breakfast Song).” It’s just an ear-sore. The rest of the tracks are up to par, but a bit of mixing won’t hurt. I wonder if the songs will sound outdated then. She’s ahead of her time anyway.

The conservatives can’t stop whining…

1

Ann Coulter and her warmongering have gone so deep in the conservative cesspool that she actually is willing to discredit Obama because he acknowledges the existence of “petty” radio broadcasters and none other than herself. She is so used George W Bush that if someone mentions her, he must be of lower political stature. Maybe that’s true in her case. Or maybe she’s having a couple of pills with Rush Limbaugh.

Iceland gets fast-track to join the European Union

iceland_sitesFollowing the deep economic crisis of last year and the ousting of the incumbent government, EU members have proposed a fast-track entrance to Iceland in the European Union. Although Iceland is a member of the Schengen Agreement and the European Economic Area, it has refused to join the EU over nautical fishing disputes in the Atlantic Ocean. There were talks of Iceland dropping their currency for the Euro before the economic depression. The European Union expects Iceland to hand in its application forms if the Social Democratic Alliance is to win in the next elections. This would make it the sole other entrant in 2011 alongside Croatia.
