No year was as prominent as this year when it comes to Earth Hour. We did the usual and shut the lights of in unity with the environment, even though I am ever so skeptical about the whole thing. I feel like its more symbolism than anything pertinent to the issue of global warming. I mean, if a couple of tree huggers shut the lights off (which is a miniscule part of the whole house’s energy) nothing will really happen. There are other methods to energy conservation, like taxing energy higher and uses the taxes for the betterment of the environment, but, of course, talking like this will raise the socialism flag and that doesn’t sit well with the suits. In any case, I look forward to the statistics this Earth Hour will bring forth.
Beyonce covers Alanis Morissette
3Out of all the songs that Beyonce can cover/steal she chose that one? She took Etta James’s “At Last” and tried to take Des’ree’s “Kissing You,” which was stopped by a court order. This time she took this rock gem and the world 90s’ womyn angst anthem and cleaned it up. The song is a classic and I am sure a lot of people will sing along to it on her I Am tour.
Peaches feels the cream…

Peaches is getting ready to release her new album I Feel Cream ravishing us with some premium electroclash with her signature explicit lyrics. The album will hit stores in May and the lead single “Talk To Me” is making some waves in college radio.
Sexy: Too hot to handle, Aussiebum
Annie comes back with surprise single
1Even though Annie sophomore album Don’t Stop never got a release, she’s still working hard at being the diva of electrolush. Annie is releasing a single titled “Antonio” – a song with Richard X. Listen to it after the jump.
Happy Birthday, Mariah!
It’s Mariah Carey’s “anniversary” and what better way to celebrate it than to show on of the lesser known hits on here. This is “Mariah’s Theme,” which is also known as “Can’t Take That Away.” MC is 39 today. A year away from the 4-0. Celebrate!
Madonna to adopt another baby from Malawi
1
Botoxella is about to adopt another baby from her favorite country in the world. Malawi, in case you didn’t know. This time it’s a girl and her name is Mercy James. i don’t know if she is capable of loving anyone but herself and her charity always has a question mark on it. But, every child deserves a better home, no matter how selfish the mommy is. Click below for the full story:
Marching band does Röyksopp’s “Happy Up Here”
I just got my cyberhands on Junior. Sounds scrumptious.
Pussycat Dolls revisit their domination
1In an attempt to resurrect their ailing sales and chart performances, the new line-up of the Pussycat Dolls has re-released Doll Domination and tacked a 2.0 behind it. It includes the insipid remake of the oscar-winning “Jai Ho” and some extra shit. I don’t see this doing anything for them, but the album cover’s fiercer.
Must-Watch: Video: “Untouchable” by Girls Aloud
4This is only one of the best singles of the year. The girls are turning everything they touch to gold. This is, as I am saying these days, premium!
Fashion: Issey Miyake vacuum cleaner
2Marc Jacobs to marry his boyfriend
4
I still like Jason Preston more, maybe because he has a tattoo that says “Mariah.” But, I wish them all the best and the Brazilian seems like a nice guy. I can’t be bothered to look up his name.
Design: The Aalto Vase
2
Recently I have been obsessed with everything Finnish. So, for the next couple of days I am bombarding you with how fabulous the Fins are. This is called an Aalto Vase (or a Savoy Vase as wiki would say) and it is the unique design by Alvar Aalto and his wife who doesn’t share his last name and is uncredited. It shape comes in different colors and sizes and there’s a store wholly dedicated to it. I got one white vase and a magnet and a ice maker. It’s quiet an investment though, but you on get quality from the Fenno-Scandi peninsula as I came to find out.
Made It Back
1
Mariella (my beloved computer) is back. So, we are up and running again. Thanks to my friend Karri who was persistent on helping me with the recovery of my month-old computer. So, from now on I will be bothering you until further notice.
Lily Allen does “Not Fair”
I guess its the next single and I think it’ll do OK.
Don’t Quote Me, Vol. 189
1India Arie talks about new album
The album is just fine and even though it contains less standout tracks than its predecessors, it’s still somewhat scrumptious. It can get a little too preachy for repeat listens.
Keyshia Cole graces Vibe Magazine
1
Keyshia Cole is looking fierce on the new cover of Vibe and her new album A Different Me is growing and growing. Also, the design of Vibe is changing and that is fly. It’s that new fresh! I love how fresh is a noun.
The state of speech in the Arab world
Madonna to offer another piece-of-crap product
6
Remember this ostentatiously horrid track suit that madonna tried to sell you on big Piccadilly Circus billboards from H&M? Well that is not the only way that this increasingly insignificant diva is trying to get your money with.
Following the get-your-cash schemes of Sticky & Sweet tour and the utterly horrid Hard Candy, Madonna is set to “please” her fans with a greatest hits collection.
