Earth Hour goes by like any hour

fishtrees5jpgNo year was as prominent as this year when it comes to Earth Hour. We did the usual and shut the lights of in unity with the environment, even though I am ever so skeptical about the whole thing. I feel like its more symbolism than anything pertinent to the issue of global warming. I mean, if a couple of tree huggers shut the lights off (which is a miniscule part of the whole house’s energy) nothing will really happen. There are other methods to energy conservation, like taxing energy higher and uses the taxes for the betterment of the environment, but, of course, talking like this will raise the socialism flag and that doesn’t sit well with the suits. In any case, I look forward to the statistics this Earth Hour will bring forth.

Beyonce covers Alanis Morissette

Out of all the songs that Beyonce can cover/steal she chose that one? She took Etta James’s “At Last” and tried to take Des’ree’s “Kissing You,” which was stopped by a court order. This time she took this rock gem and the world 90s’ womyn angst anthem and cleaned it up. The song is a classic and I am sure a lot of people will sing along to it on her I Am tour.
