The US becomes less religious

q-atheistnewlogo

According to a new study atheists, agnostics and other non-believers has not only become greater in the US, but it has doubled. This means that not only are non-believers a big chunk of the population, but the third largest belief group after catholics and baptists. I think that this is the case everywhere in world. Some countries that do not allow religious freedom might be surprised as to how many non-believers there are around them. It’s just that most liberals do not like to tread on people’s toes and this causes a silence about pertinent issues like religion and disbelief.  Good for the US. Ani DiFranco’s “Promiscuity” banned in Singapore

2

What a shame! Ani DiFranco’s only live date in Asia ever and she can’t even sing her new songs. Meanwhile, Lil’ Wayne’s “Lollipop” is filling up all the clubs from Sentosa Island to Tantric. Singapore has to liberalize its laws and jump into the 21st century. She is not saying anything obscene by any standards. It’s just her point of view and I fully agree.

Video: “My Love” by The-Dream & Mariah Carey

1

Who knew that Mariah can do the proletariat so well. And a bad hair day, too. This song has the potential to be #1 in the US and in the US only. It sounds good, her vocals are impeccable and radio is just going to eat it up. Also, I heard that it would count as a #1 for her and not just The-Dream. So, yay.

CASXIO are a quartet of funky musicians who fuse elements of rock with disco. If you are having a hard time imagining that merger check out their new single “Seventeen,” which is likely to be on my “Most Played” iTunes playlist soon. It reminds me of early Shalamar mixed in with The Vines. The group is out now touring in support of Yelle and they are set to wow the world around with their Four Songs EP,which is available on their website for free. Go get it and listen to one of 2009′s break-through acts.

Coldplay regret giving their “best song ever” to Natalie Imbruglia

natalie_imbrugliajpg

Chris Martin has claimed that he is regretting the fact that he gave Natalie Imbruglia the “best Coldplay song ever.” The song is titled “Scars” and it is supposed to be the first single off of Natalie imbruglia’s Come To Life. He said he did so because they are off-cycle. I don’t know what he exactly means by that, but if it means that they aren’t about to release anything soon then that is both a relief and stupid reasoning. Firstly because Viva La Vida is a muddle of rock sap and they have been going downhill since their debut, which is my opinion and it is bound to rattle some wannabe hipsters out there. Secondly, because he could have kept it. He is sounding like Bono these days.

The truth is, Natalie Imbruglia would do a better job with it. Her tracks are always preened to perfection without over-instrumentation and clutter. The newfound direction on her own label will present her music in a different light. The album will have a more electronic sound and is slated for a May release on her very own Malabar Records.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs album leaks

yeah-yeah-yeahs-its-blitzjpg1The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s third album, the highly-anticipated It’s Blitz has leaked and made the internet rounds. The album cover is spectacular, but there’s no text. Maybe it’s on the rim. The album is exactly what one would expect from the band. The single “Zero” is not their best, but it will put some pump in your day.

On March 29th, 2009 this is what the Schengen will look like with the full implementaion if Switzerland’s inclusion. Now you can roam all of Western Europe (excluding the UK and Ireleand, because they have an agreement on their own). Romania and Bulgaria are in the process of getting in by 2011. Croatia is up next and Cyprus will be when the Northern Cyprus dispute is resolved. That’s 25 countries on one visa.

Drugs can end the economic crisis

2

At first it was just a side joke being thrown by political commentators. Now, it looks like its is gathering some attention. It makes sense, people love the ganja. So, if it’s on the market there will be some sort of surge I am sure. It’s just that the legalization is garnering attention because of the economy and not as an issue of basic civil liberties. Legalize it!
