Arabian feminism grows and grows

There has always been a correlation between a culture’s treatment of women and it’s own brand of linguistics. This has prevailed on for way too far and even as the Arabic language is one of the most eloquent languages in the world there seems to be no way around using gender non-specific words. It’s time we removed gender from the vocabulary. That’s the only way to progress. You know, gender is an illusion.

What a little over-produced soulless tune. But, I like it now.

What constitutes piracy?
Costume shop owner takes her job seriously
Cranston police are after this alleged cyberstalker. Ann Bruno, a local costume shop owner (wearing the rabbit costume), is accused of using a computer to harass another competitor in her town. NBC 10′s Jim Taricani attempted to question her about it. The video footage turned out to be an unusual interview. I like her assistant who was whole-heartedly on her side! I always thought that people who work in costume shops must have a great sense of humor and a huge imagination with an abound degree of quirk.
Comme Des Garçons experiments with the gradient
American Apparel did it, now Comme Des Garçons has revisited the gradient shades for their line of t-shirts. I am not too sure about the yellow pocket, but at least they tried.
Video: “I Could Break Your Heart Any Day Of The Week” by Mandy Moore
I must say this song is on heavy rotation here at the loft. It’s a great compromise between Mandy’s organic sound from Wild Hope and her more commercial ditties. If they video is low-budget, give her a break – she’s gone rouge for a former bubblegum popster like her. Amanda Leigh, her upcoming album, is said to have an impressive line of producers.
Dubai Sheikh wanted to buy Slumdog actress
7The father of the the little girl who played the main character’s love interest in Slumdog Millionaire has tried to sell her for 200,000 British pounds to, what the tabloids are alleging now, a so-called “Dubai Sheikh.” No names have surfaced yet and the father has been arrested. There are claims of a video tape arising about that meeting. I just can’t believe that there were two adults that would actually go along in these negotiations to buy a child. And it had to be someone from this part of the world to have no value to human life, or a women’s life, where it come to the actuality that a human life is for purchase, a la the slave trade years. What a shame! I hope the name comes out for all to know. Good thing the actress’s mother informed authorities in time.

Moby’s gone independent just like every other artist that matters nowadays. This is the video of the first single done by David Lynch. The song’s a return to form and it has quite a sombre mood with no vocals at all. Reminiscent of early Zero 7. When it comes to Moby, I either love his albums or can’t listen to them at all. Play and Hotel were great albums, but 18 and Late Night didn’t do it for me at all. If this song is anything to go by, Wait For Me sounds like it’s going to be a great album.
The phenomenon of the African pirate
3All this talk of the African pirates is leaving me baffled, really. Why now? Why old-school piracy? I mean, surely the some of the world’s most sophisticated armies can take care of a couple of skirmishes of the coast of the horn of Africa. I have a hard time believing that couple of incidences like that would be such a hurdle in the “fight against terrorism.” Why is the media creating such a buzz about this?

I just can’t get enough of Erik Hassle. This is one of the best tracks on the album – Hassle.
