Black Eyed Peas are on the boom
3Much to my surprise, the Black Eyed Peas single “Boom Boom Pow” is gaining a lot of ground making some waves in the charts. Now, it is a comeback single and people are hungry by anything fergelicious, but that s no excuse to buy that single. It’s #1 now on the billboard charts. Maybe it’s a very late grower. The song comes from their supposed farewell album titled The E.N.D., which ironically is an abbreviation for “the energy never dies.” To me, it’s just another slap together project the BEP worked on to end it smoothly and cash in on the band name before Fergie can go ahead and release the second album and Will.I.Am can get to being a hit producer. No?

2She’s back and she’s here to stay. I Feel Cream is said to bring about a more mainstream audience. I don’t know if that is a good thing when it comes to Peaches.

Sleeve: La Roux is bulletproof
The cover for the 3rd single from La Roux’s debut self-titled album will be “Bulletproof.” The cover is just fantastical and this one is probably going to be the strongest track on the album, even if I haven’t heard it yet. I am judging purely by the fact that the first single is always the second best and then one that coincided with the album release of a debut artist is usually the gem. I could be wrong.

Solange has been dropped from record label
2From Yahoo Music:

Beyonce’s younger sister, who is also managed by father Mathew Knowles and his MusicWorld Entertainment company, was allegedly released from Geffen/Interscope Records after bosses opted not to renew her contract.

Sleeve: Little Boots gets dimensional
What is going on here. I’ll give her the typeface and the ferosh dress, but other than that the colors are muddled and seep into each other. CD sleeve is square and then there is a circles in it and then a triangle. All put together like a bad astronomy leaflet. And her hands are not even in the picture. Would that be too literal?

The Pope’s war on condoms…
It’s amazing what a little piece of plastic will make the Catholic Church do. Before, I used to harshly criticize Pope Benedict and his just-as-faulty predecessors about their constant anti-condom approach especially when it comes to Africa. Preaching unrealistic things like abstinence and a “healthy marriage.” Now, I just sit back watch the Vatican just fade into the 20th Century losing all credibility. The church has lost touch with time again and continues to kill millions of people because of that.
Video: “Let’s Get Excited” by Alesha Dixon
Picking this song as the third single beguiles me, it’s a mediocre dance song with an outdated crunk-ish beat and nothing sticks out about it really. I am still bracing for “Don’t Ever Let Me Go” to get the video treatment. Now that I listen to this song again, it sounds a bit Gnarls Barkley, too. Still, blah choice. Even “Chasing Ghosts” would’ve been a better pick.
Introducing… Noisettes
1They didn’t quite right that last time around with What’s The Time Mr. Wolf, but their sophomore album is bound to shatter all notions about them. The British band is sitting high at the second spot on the charts with their single “Don’t Upset The Rhythm (Go Baby Go)” and now they are set to release their new album titled Wild Young Hearts, which fuses big band chords with pop mentality. Keep an eye on them.
