I love how this general air of change is sweeping the world over. Progressive movements are popping up here and there and everywhere and that’s how it should have been during those last 8 stagnant years of redneck imperialism. The people have spoken and they would rather move forward, please. If you don’t want to, then stay back.
Maxwell to reign supreme
Maxwell’s return is slated for July 7th, 2009. That’s if they don’t change it for the umpteenth time. The first summer is BLACK from the BlackSummersNight trilogy that Maxwell has been working on no for almost a decade. “Pretty Wings” is a hot off the press download now and everything is smooth sailing for him right now because there is so much demand for new stuff. Maybe he can resurrect the ailing state of neosoul. Jill Scott’s gone to have a baby and Erykah Badu is unreliable. No word on the Ankh as of yet.

Not a big fan, but just staying up to date.
Greenday launch their comeback
Haven’t gotten around to download the latest offering from the last punk band standing, but Greenday’s 21st Century Breakdown is getting all kinds of sexy rave reviews and, frankly, they can’t go wrong. In Greenday fashion, it’s sectioned off to nice bits and themes. Will get back to you on the review.
Must-Watch: Video: “The Girl And The Robot” by Röyksopp featuring Robyn
1This is only one of the best songs of 2009 and it just gets to video treatment. It’s just lush fun with great visual elements. I like Robyn’s haircut and the fact that she doesn’t start singing with the lyrics. The diffrents light on the bed are mesmerizing and the robot is sexual. And the pregnancy thing is just the cherry on the top. Yeah, I like it.
Introducing… Sliimy
3He’s already been featured, but we got ahold of the album Paint Your Face recently and we loves it sans the accent. If he gets signed to record labels outside of La France then he will definitely make it. Also his video doesn’t need a re-doing for other countries. “Wake Up” sounds and looks just fine for a debut single in the UK, maybe even in some niche markets in the US. I’m not saying he is going to be climbing the billboard charts anytime soon, but who wants to be there when the like of Flo Rida and Miley Cyrus up there.

Blackberry for Selfridges 100th Birthday
From Selectism: “I have to admit, the yellow colorway just works on this Blackberry for Selfridges 100th birthday celebration. If you missed it the first time, here’s another shot at them ‘BlackBerry created only 10 limited edition handset, all of which sold out within the first two weeks! However, due to popular demand BlackBerry have now created one last handset, which will be acquired by one lucky customer on the last day of May. Customers may phone the Concept Store at Selfridges Oxford Street to leave their details and be entered for the chance to buy the last centenary BlackBerry!’”
Ventura shuts Elisabeth Hasselbeck up
1“Enhanced interrogation.” That what the republikkkans are using now? That like calling Janet Jackson’s titty a “wardrobe malfunction.” Torture is torture. Remember the Geneva Convention?
Regina Spektor is not that Far
Regina Spektor’s hiatus will be over and done on June 23rd when she released her highly-awaited album Far, which will be a progression but not that different from Begin To Hope. The lead single is called “Laughing With” and it just got released to radio and is bound to be circulating the download sites.

Must-Watch: Video: “Wake Up” by Sliimy

Here is France’s answer to MIKA. His name is Sliimy and this is his debut track titled “Wake Up” and it;s filled with rainbows and all things glee. The song’s #1 in France and his mop-top is bound to cross over with his English tracks. He got some acclaim with his version of Ms. Britney Spears’ ” Womanizer” (who didn’t).
Nouvelle Vague to release third album
2
Rumor has it that Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux are ready and set to put together their third installation of great cover versions and intricate chillout tracks. Both their album, although filled with covers, are great offerings verging from pop-folk to smooth chill out beats. It’s always welcome. The title is 3 and it should come out soon.
And the American Idol winner is… Kris Allen
3Not that I care, really. It’s just that I had hope Adam Lambert would make some kind of change from the cookie-cutter squeaky clean contestants on the show. But, I think he was too queeny for the US, especially the voting US. They just wouldn’t let it happen and that made the blandest of the bland the winner. He might change. But right now he is just another dud with an exceptionally pretty face.
Mariah writes “Precious” song, collaborated with Timbaland
2
News is pouring in about Mariah Carey’s new projects and it’s mainly due to her love of Twitter. She is recently done a song for her critically-acclaimed movie “Precious” that is titled “100 Percent.” Moreover, she has confirmed a collaboration with Timbaland on her next album project tentatively titled MC3. I am sure that’s won’t be the title. Oh, also, Nick Cannon is stepping up to world-renowned douche Eminem for talking smack about his wife.
