I am amazed at how she managed to hold up such a long career with so few successes. She’s not bad, but that’s not good enough. This album consists of a bunch of Duffy rip-offs and boring soul. I know she has the talent, but she’s not pulling it off. She’s no Beverley Knight, you see… Even if the lead single is written by James Morrison.

Shame coz she’s one of my favourite UK soul singers, even though she sint so successful. Just listen to her rendition of ‘I Put A Spell On You’ live on the Jools Holland show, such a distinguished voice! Funny you mention Bev, she has an album coming out in a few months with some great tracks on it including a duet with none other than Chaka Khan..
