It’s true, she’s bringing her freakshow of a show to the Gulf and we will probably all be glued to it. It’s funny that she decided to cover up for the show “in keeping with local customs.” Whose customs? Dubai is a big party shake-your-booty kind of a town. She’s such a poser. I wonder if the actual contestants are from the UAE or Arab or just anyone living in Dubai.
Mariah’s new fragrance called “Forever”
1
Just when you thought it was over, she pops out another one. Following the great reception for the marshmallow smelling M and the summery Luscious Pink, Mariah Carey decided to release Forever just in time for the album promotion, to kill two birds in one stone. The title might be cheesy but it’s a reference to her old song of the same name from Daydream. This time around its smells of ”An opulent floral with notes of Tuberose and Gardenia”

Nice ballad from the punk rockers.
Official: More Votes Than Voters in Iran
1
It took mass protests, unrest, violence and some deaths for them to admit it. But, Iran’s Guardian Council have investigated and found out that there was voter fraud. The irregularities were found because there were more votes than voters. So, the government-run media thinks it can quiet the people down by saying that the votes weren’t right, but there was no rigging just “over counting.” The Ayatollah has lost its credibility and the new face of reform is not too far from Tehran. People won’t let this slip even if they didn’t vote for Mousavi.
Brüno gets to do some promo
Still not so sure about the movie and what it will bring to the table from stereotypes to homophobia. But, I must admit he is a funny man. Here he is in Bruno mode trying to promote the movie.
MPHO does some Pop Art
1Brixton’s newest damsel has unveiled her new album cover. It’s simple, yet fun. Nothing new, but still powerful. The colors and even the typeface for the album title is good even though it could easily look out of place, but it works with the concept.

Perez Hilton assualted by Will.I.Am’s posse
2
Celebrity blogger and international shit-stirrer Perez Hilton, has been assaulted by Will.I.Am’s posse. He reported the assault on Twitter and said he was bleeding and that he needed the police to come. He had to file a report, that’s what his lawyers told him. He was in Canada for the MuchMusic Awards when it happened. This was his twitter:
“I’m in shock. I need the police ASAP. Please come to the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel now. Please. I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.”

Pixie Lott dominates chart with “Mama Do”
1Surprisingly, Pixie Lott’s lackluster single “Mama Do” made it to the top of the charts. Yes, not La Roux, not Florence and the Machine, not even Little Boots. She basically sounds like the Sugababes vocally without the Xenomania prowess. Anyway, she’s on top of the chart this week. Let’s see if she’ll stick around.

Shalamar reunite for a hot minute
This is very exciting news. Jody Watley finally got over her grudge of years and decided that it’s not such a bad idea to reunite one of the greatest disco bands that this earth has seen. They are doing it for a TV show called Unsung, it’s a little but at least it’s something. Watley needs to realize that reviving her once hot solo career is out of the questions and it’s about for a huge disco revival. Already artists like La Roux and Little Boots are revisiting the genre. Check out “Night To Remember” and my personal favorite “I Can Make You Feel Good.”
America apologizes for slavery
4Yes, this is for real everyone. The U.S. Senate just passed an actual apology for slavery. The statement is that the United States of America “acknowledges the fundamental injustice, cruelty, brutality and inhumanity of slavery, and Jim Crow laws.”
Oh, really? Now! That’s good to know. Maybe, The Autobiography Of Miss Jane Pittman was on HBO or something. This should have been issued decades ago. Actually, not just issued but delivered by a president and then made a national mourning day for all the people that watched their family members die because they picked up a book. Horrid.
Bunnies in space
Why post? Because I can and there’s a demographic for kawaii.
World’s most expensive SUV
1
Rarely, a topic of ours, but it’s worth a mention. Cars are good as long they get your somewhere and that’s it for me really. Oh, and an iPod jack is a necessity. A simple queer necessity. Anyway, this car is different and even if it looks like a small car, it is an SUV. It’s worth $300,000 and is quite possibly the world’s most expensive SUV unless you encrust yours with swarovski crystals or whatever the kids are doing these days to play pimp. Anyway, here’s an excerpt to better describe it:
Introducing… Leslie Mendelson

Nice jazzy standards and a beautiful voice. Her album is titled I Know You Better Than That and we will feature it once we get it.
The album wars: Mariah Carey vs. Whitney Houston
20As I have explained before, for a Mariah Carey album to get push for earlier release is quiet rare. In fact, it has never happened before in the artist’s history. When all anticipation was directed at the last quarter of the year for the album to drop. Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel got a very early August 25th date with the single being rushed to radio now. Many speculated that that was due to Mariah wanting to qualify for this year’s award season.
But, now I think that we have the real reason. Mariah’s album, being a sure-fire number one debut, decided not to overshadow her long-time pal Whitney Houston. Whitney Houston’s tentatively titled either Undefeated or I Didn’t Know My Own Strength, which is also the titled of the first single, will drop officially a week after Mariah’s album on September 1st.
Ani DiFranco graces Bonnaroo 2009
Oh, how I wish I was there. Ani DiFranco and Erykah Badu on the same stage and its hella sunny. Here she is singing her monumental song “Napoleon.”
