As I have explained before, for a Mariah Carey album to get push for earlier release is quiet rare. In fact, it has never happened before in the artist’s history. When all anticipation was directed at the last quarter of the year for the album to drop. Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel got a very early August 25th date with the single being rushed to radio now. Many speculated that that was due to Mariah wanting to qualify for this year’s award season.
But, now I think that we have the real reason. Mariah’s album, being a sure-fire number one debut, decided not to overshadow her long-time pal Whitney Houston. Whitney Houston’s tentatively titled either Undefeated or I Didn’t Know My Own Strength, which is also the titled of the first single, will drop officially a week after Mariah’s album on September 1st.
So, they won’t battle it out but will work side by side. Mariah is actually doing Whitney Houston a huge favor, not only will Whitney get her #1 comeback album, but the media and press will also claim that she had “pushed off Mariah Carey from the top spot,” which won’t be accurate because that week will be reflective of Mariah’s second weak sales (usually much less than the first week). In any case, there is room for all divas (except Jennifer Lopez, whom I detest).

Mariah is not competing with Whitney. She does not need to, neither of them do for the record. Whitney is satisfied if the album hits platinum and Mariah does not expect to sell a bunch of albums. Neither even have to. Mariah is pushing for #1 spot.. which she will get and she is seeking to break the #1 single record.. Which she will.. eventually. Album sales are not really her concern, she cares more about chart domination and record breaking. Realize, Mariah is already established and set. Whitney has to re-establish herself and make herself relevant in a new age. Mariah is not fighting to remain relevant anymore. She did that with Mimi..
Do you think Mariah or Whitney had anything to do with their release dates? Nope. That’s the record companies. Mariah doesn’t even know the day of the week generally (because she is working 24/7) and Whitney has been working on getting this album done for years. The dates mean nothing to the divas. Love them both–the BEST voices of our generation–hands down. Move over Madonna, the REAL divas, MC and Ms. Houston are on their way!

And after hearing a snippet of Mariah H.A.T.E.U song – IT WAS AMAZING! its like old school mariah! BIG BALLAD BIG VOCALS!!!!

First off both singers do not sing like they use to and that is understood, they both sung with power and held big notes. The voice is nothing but a muscle it gets worn out and tired like any other muscle in your body. But, Whitney has always and still will sung with compassion were Mariah has a couple of moments when she did or does. Whitney is the better singer past and present. A lot of people think singing is when you hit high notes, it is not. Singing is when you can sing a flat liner and people still feel what you are singing not only when you scream and holler like Mariah , Patti Labelle or now a days Keisha Cole. Whitney is more of a Aretha Franklin , Gladys Knight ….no hollering or screaming but Voice….Power….Conviction of Lyrics.

Whitney hadn´t lost her voice. She had a perfect voice and has a perfect voice. But it´s different like in previous years of her career. Mariah has still same voice ´cause she didn´t take any drugs, drink or smoke. U people are stupid if U thought that Whitney will have an old voice. Wake up people!!!
