Another Mariah post, but when it rains it pours. There’s just so much news about Mariah what with the new album and tour and now acting career. Mariah is planning on taking the West End of London sometime soon. She’s getting paid a not so hefty price for it – $15,000, which is bad for a singer that gets a million for a concert date. But, this will be a good ground for her to start upon. With her movies Tennessee and Precious coming out soon. Her world tour and her album Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel. I know I am heading to LHR for it.
Lady GaGa styles it up in South Korea
2How do you like the new look. All Lady GaGa has to do to dodge the paparazzi is used some make-up remover. Enough with that song already. Something tells me we won’t be seeing new material from her in a long time.
Mariah Carey’s album cover for Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel
Now that “Obsessed” made the airwaves with a sleeve in tact and the album got an early release date of August 25, 2009, many people are speculating about the album cover. The photoshoot that took place for obsessed doesn’t look like album material. In any case, Mariah rarely uses the same photoshoot for her first single as her album. It only happened until “Fantasy” in the Daydream era. Of course, the lagune font will be there even if she didn’t use it on E=MC², which was was “extension” or “dessert” of The Emancipation Of Me. So the similar pose and the armpit galore is going to disappear. Also, I don’t think it’s likely that the album will have a black background because that would just be overdoing it. The cover should come out July. By the time, the Eminen diss is climbing the chart in its pursuit for #1. It would be her 19th. I’m so excited for Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel.

Video: “Trust” by Keyshia Cole & Monica
This will come and go and not even be recognized. But it is ghettofabulous. Everything monica touches barely turns bronze. lol. Her album Still Standing hasn’t gotten a release date yet!
Hillary Clinton breaks her elbow
2This just in: Hillary Clinton has broken an elbow after falling down. The Secretary Of State and the former presidential hopeful is getting medical attention and will probably need surgery. The conservatives of course will use this in one form or another to their defense. Probably in a very sexist context. I mean, if they can pick on Dijon mustard they can pick on a broke elbow. Here’s the news from Reuters:
Video: “No Turning Back” by Sarah Blasko
You know how we loves us some fluffy little folk ditties here. This is our latest craving Sarah Blasko, who has had a three album career but only recently came to our attention. The Australian chanteuse is releasing her album As Day Follows Night in the ides of July.

1The trouble with Little Boots
2She arrived on the scene promising us a big ballast of unapologetic pop music. And we believed her. Promoted her. And even thought she was cute. She was in the right direction. She had the disco balls. She had the Atari triangles. She even had unicorns roaming around her. The songs that surfaced promised a smooth direction into pop path. Even when we thought “Meddle” was bit dry. We blamed it on the early progress of an artist. We believed her. Why wouldn’t we, she plays an Japanese instrument called the Tenori-on.
Carrie Prejean can go to the hell that she speaks of
4Windy day? Really? Now that she has been fired because Donald Trump decided he wants some headlines the conservatives with take her in for a while chew her out and spit her out. Kind of like what they are doing now to Michelle Malkin. She’s going to have bad time going to a hairdresser / florist / make-up artists. It’s one thing to e hateful like the conservatives, it’s another to use that to propel your popularity. Like Eminen, Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly.
Cher doesn’t understand Chaz’s transition
4Cher has finally spoken out on Chastity Bono’s transition to Chaz Bono. Everyone been waiting and this is what she had to say about her once straight, then lesbian, now transgender and futrure transsexual kin:
“Chaz is embarking on a difficult journey, but one that I will support. I respect the courage it takes to go through this transition in the glare of public scrutiny, and although I may not understand, I will strive to be understanding … The one thing that will never change is my abiding love for my child.”
Cher, you are the beacon and idol of the LGBTQIC community. Take a queer theory class or two. She just wants to be a boy like you wanted to be a showpony.
Everyone: Go Green Now
1Just when we thought that the protests were getting calm, we hear of mass detainees and solitary confinement and some deaths. This revolution is not a bump in the road and no matter how many times the oppressors oppress they still won’t be able to maintain their position. The people of Iran have spoken. This time around Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and blogs. These are the weapons of the Iranian people. And no matter how strong the oppressor’s weapon’s are, nothing is stronger and more effective than a keyboard.
Go green on your blogs, your daily wear and pictures in support of liberty and justice.
Asymmetry is the new black
Men’s fashions are usually a bit more dull then the female section. But, a little asymmetrical cardigan can wane the pain away. Sacai are introducing asymmetry back even when it reared its head a couple of years back. It’s not much but it’s different.
The making of Beyoncé’s “Sweet Dreams”
One of the weaker songs on Sasha Fierce and that is saying something because it’s not a strong album at all. But. it was the first to leak (in a different mix) so people will identify with it. Don’t mine the horrid acting, her costumes look sharp. Beyoncé won’t find anymore things to release. Unless she opts for “Radio.”
Outstanding day for Loft965.com
14In the 10 short months that we have operated and maintained this little blog, we have seen a constant rise in number. But, yesterday was a monumental day for the Loft965.com offices (Again, whatever couch I am on in whatever city I happen to be in). We usually get a nice hefty chunk of visitors for such a young blog. But, yesterday was one of the best days.
Yesterday Loft965.com got 32,875 unique visitors in a single day (June 17, 2009). That is due to three reasons. Firstly, the daily visitors that log in everyday or so, they are the platform and are predominant. Secondly, 2 recent posts that were very popular (this and this) and an old one that keeps bringing in people everyday (this). Thirdly, the mentions on ABC News, Twitter trends, numerous blogs, Google Blog Search Headlines and StumbleUpon. (Update: I am on the front page of WordPress Now as a “Hawt Post”).
Of course, much thanks to all the people that continuously visit, or RSS, because that is the platform from which I build. It’s my strongest base. Then to all the newcomers. I hope you like the blog. And if you do, bookmark it!
Even fleas have a circus
This is spectacular. I don’t know how the Danish lady trained them. Bring it back now.
Shakira to come back soon
1No cover, no leak, no album title. But, it’s worth a mention. Shakira is set to release an English album follow by and Spanish album this year. The lead single is called “She Wolf” and in Spanish it is tentatively titled “Loba.” The folks over at PopJustice have given it rave reviews citing it as an electronic sounding dance number with the Shakira touch. Let’s hope it’s as big as “Whenever, Wherever” or my personal favorite, which is the butt of some of my friends jokes, “Timor.”
Must-Watch: “The Long Way 1.0″
Oh, how I long for a trip like this one sans bad food plus iPod. He went through China and made it. It’s heart warming and breaking at the same time. His brother joined him, that must’ve been nice, and he fill in and out of love. That’s a journey. Mentally, emotionally and physically. And it’s only 1.0. Imma keep my eyes pealed for v2. Yeah, I need to get out of Boston.
