Out of the many ludicrous things I have heard in my life as a pop fan and follower this has to be up there. To my recollection Sandi Thom has had: 2 albums, 5 singles and a tour or two. Of those singles, she has had one top spot holder – “I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair)” – and the rest didn’t even make the top 20 UK singles chart. That is not to say that “The Devil’s Beat” or “What If I’m Right?” didn’t have redeemable qualities. But, a greatest hits collection. That’s like the prematurest of musical abortions.

Video: “Foot Of The Mountain” by A-ha

The aging Norwegian rockers are back with an album titled Foot Of The Mountain trying to reclaim the glory of their world-renowned hit and 80s’ staple “Take On Me.” A-ha are back for with a full length set and this is the lead single, it’s okay in the context of the genre, but only good for that. They have had a couple of numbers that were exciting throughout their long careers like “Summer Moved On,” but this is unlikely to please anyone except the die-hards and maybe some random Scandinavians.

apple_tablet_mockupThe tech blogs have been typing about this for a good while now. It looks like it’s going to finally suffice. Apple may release the Apple Tablet this September along with it’s annual new throng of products at this time of year. This above picture is just a mock-up of what it is thought to look like, because nothing official has been released or surfaced. But, my guess is it will look like an elongated iPhone. I am not a fan of the keyboard-on-screen feature though. And is a Tablet a “tablet” if it’s this size?

Following the news that “Obsessed” dropped 9 places on the chart and is apparently considered a flop by some people because it on reached #11 (when was #11 a flop? And in a recession?), Mariah, as I predicted before, is readying up another single that is rumored to hit the airwaves this upcoming week titled “100%.”  The track already made its debut on Hot 97 and is apparently “dope.” It’s produced by The-Dream and is supposed to be another mid-tempo belter. I feel like it’s time for a grand old epic ballad, people love that.

Don’t get your panties up in a bunch, it’s just an animated video for one of the best songs of Circus. There’s no excuse for it. When she did the animated video for “Break The Ice” we understood because she was going through rehab. Now, why this? I mean a live version with some graphics, in the Madonna manner of “Miles Away” and “Get Together,” would have been better than this Bratz looking fiasco! For such a fun and happening song she should have done something elaborate and dancey, but something tells me Britney just wants to release as many songs as possible to fill a singles compilation coming out soon.
