To keep up with the festivities of the summer season we decided to dodge depth and melancholy in favor of sun beats and lush pop. yes, it’s another beach mix filled with pop marvels that are bound to make you dance and strut and do the nasty. Not one track on this compilation is slow, not even towards the end. SlinkyPop is exactly what the name refers to. It’s playful and poppy like the seed. 21 tracks of fun. We hope you like it as it has been playing non-stop at Loft965 headquarters (the chalet hammock).

Elisabeth Hasselbeck might have a brain

She barely scratch the surface of the surface of progressive thinking. But, at least she is not protecting anything republican and conservative these days. She admitted her dislike for Ann Coulter, who I hate so much that I am starting to like her. Now, she is taking a stand against the “lying sack of dog crap” shit-starter Glen Beck, who this half-white Obama is racist against “white culture.” What the hell is white culture? That’s Nazi-speak to me. I mean, that’s verging on some Ku Klux Klan bullshit.

Exclusive: Video: “She Wolf” by Shakira

We managed to catch it the second it came out and here it is. The Shakira single that has gotten so many mixed reviews you have to hear it for yourself. We  like anything disco here at Loft965, so it’s OK with us even if she howls like a wolf. Some say the Spanish version “Loba” is better. But, I’d rather understand what she is saying with the defective voice of hers. Our friends hate it muchly but we couldn’t help but feature it on our next compilation. We hope the album has better tunes. They say it’s “electronic.”

Dolores O’Riordan carries on solo with No Baggage

No_Baggage_-_Dolores_O_Riordan

No news of a Cranberries reunion, so we get this. The second offering from the front women of a band that shaped rock music in an unforgiving decade – the 90s’. Frankly, this should have been her debut album. The songs are better structured and very well put together. Now, I am not saying it’s a great album, but it’s definitely better than the miserable Are You Listening? The instrumentation on the single is very lush and her accent is always a great touch. The jury is out on whether this I’ll make it. Because, right now, it’s make or break for her.
