James Perse has taken up re-inventing the ping pong table. All colors get a revamping and everything turns fashionably black. No green board or rubbery-red pads. The new limited edition table tennis marvel is the re-invention of the Los Angels-based fashion designer and is available for a short period of time on his website.
Diane Birch covers Haddaway’s “What Is Love?”
She really turned the early 90s’ dance floor stomper into a deep and eloquent ballad. If you ask me, it should have been on the album, but I hear it’s on the set list on her live shows. She is really growing on me. Bible Belt is one of the best albums of the year. It’s vintage without trying to hard, soulful but without overproduction or vinyl scratches for authenticity, a la Christina Aguilera.
files “touch-and-go” USB patent
Apple has filed a patent that might be USB for a new and exciting product upcoming sometime soon. It’s a patent that the mac corporation can use for it’s USB devices. It’s a new technology where a USB portable hard drive can detect or a touch or a would-be touch before the user pulls out the the device from the computer to avoid file corruption. It might also be used for other things, perhaps a USB thermometer? Source.

Télépopmusik to release new album titled “In The Air”
4What a great year 2009 turned out to be for electronic music whether it be electro-clash, dance or chill out. But, for the latter it is especially good in the next couple of months. High off the heels of the news that both Air (Love 2) and Zero 7 (Yeah Ghost) are preparing full-lengthers for release, we find out that one of our favorite french chill bands Télépopmusik is also readying up a whole album of new material. All that’s left now is an announcement from Husky Rescue. The album’s titled In The Air and it’s set to contain this first single which is making the blog rounds – “Ghost Girl.”

Obama outdoes Osama
For the first time since September 11th, 2001, a US president is actually popular in the old world. I read somewhere that his approval ratings are higher than Osama Bin Laden’s in Turkey, Egypt and Indonesia for the first time. Now, Bush’s ratings must be so low that a criminal like Bin Laden gets a higher rating. Granted, some people might look at him as a freedom fighter, but still. In any case, the point is, it’s looking good for Obama but something tells me that if the pull-out from Iraq doesn’t happen very soon Osama might win the next Political Idol.
Video: “Remedy” by Little Boots
The song is not the strongest as a single nor as an album track, but, the video is not so bad. The more I see of her, the more I think she is a timid version of GaGa.
Mercury Music Prize nominees announced

Florence and the Machine: Lungs
Friendly Fires: Friendly Fires
Glasvegas: Glasvegas

Sweet Billy Pilgrim: Twice Born Men
Oh, snap, no Little Boots. And, also, Lily Allen fails to make the list yet again. The snub comes the second time for Allen, but, to tell you the truth, she truly deserves a nomination. Little Boots not so much. La Roux’s album is a bunch of singles, really. I don’t know some of the albums on here, but, so far, Florence + The Machine should win this.

6Video: “Canvas” by Imogen Heap
Yes, I am going to say it again, much to my friend’s fury: To me, all Imogen Heaps songs sound the same. It’s all about faux-depth and lyrics that really don’t fit the melody with a reverb. Even this video-ed single sounds like all others. Her peak was Frou Frou and that’s it.
