In classic Madonna fashion, this cover shows how far the talentless diva is willing to go to capitalize on former victories. Not only is this a greatest hits collection, but the picture for the cover is also an old picture of Madge. To save up, she went back in her photo gallery, put a little eye shadow on it and here it is, the cover. Madonna also changed the name from Iconography to Celebration. Why you ask? To give the single some extra promotion. The title for the single sounds fun, but let’s see what she does with it. Until now, boring effort.
Chelsea Lately interviews Jewel
1I can’t believe she is still trying to push that failure of an album to whomever wants to buy. Lullaby is a monumental catastrophe. She needs to get back in the studio and get back to pop folk and forget about country for a hot minute. Meanwhile, I think that Chelsea Handler should not be on cable and should be in Jimmy Fallon’s place.
Mariah Carey delays Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel
3The news is in and it seems that Mariah Carey is delaying her album Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel to September 15th. This is sad news to all the lambs in the world. Not only will the Mariah album be delayed 3 weeks but it will also miss the Grammy cut-off date. Furthermore, that week she will be up against Jay-Z, Kid Cudi and Madonna’s Celebration, which, in reality, is not hard to beat. Jay-Z might be tough. Mariah is apparently still in the studio trying to finish off the album as she twitters about it, but, something tells me that the recent dip of “Obsessed” on the charts from #11 to #20 is the reason. She might want to release two singles in time for the album in order to build up the hype for it. At any rate, “It’s Like That” did really poorly on the charts but The Emancipation Of Mimi still managed to be the best selling album of 2005.
Exclusive: Video: “Beautiful Night” by Beverley Knight
We’ve been pacing the internets for this offering of this grandiose return. Beverley Knight has officially stepped back in the spotlight with this video for “Beautiful Night,” which is the first single off of here album 100%. We can’t wait for some hearty British soul music.a
I got to my 50th country
4If you know me, you know that one of my foremost hobbies is travel. Many kinds, really. It’s up there with music and having an all-out good time. And if the three happen at the same time, it’s the epitome of grandness for me.
A couple of years back I was dancing the night away in London and I happened to bump into someone whom I didn’t know at the time but we shared the same love to a website that we both were members of. That website is Virtual Tourist, a no-jokes online review for the serious tourist. His name was Umer (who would later become a dear friend to me). We both have an unabashed passion for travel and escapism. At the time, he had just passed his 50-country mark and was very proud of it (currently, he is working on getting to a 100.) We were both the same age and I was very intrigued to reach that number. I used to travel as much as I do, but with not as much fervor to visit new and unexplored places.

Holly Valance to make a grand comeback
Underestimated Australian dancetress is set to make a comeback with this track titled “Superstar.” Originally, there was a rumor that “Electro” was supposed to be the next single, however, this official single cover surfaced. The album is set to be released by the end of the summer and it’s titled Hot Sound. Current “it” boy Frankmusik worked hard on it. It should have a couple of stompers.
Frankie Sandford leaves the Saturdays
2The rumors have been circulating non-stop and it’s one of the most searched phrases on my blog today. Many think that the sudden slowing-down of public appearances meant that some sort of girl band break up happened. And this is really bad news coming in the time of the Girls Aloud abrupt hiatus. But, Frankie was always the best one and in this last performance on T4 she doesn’t even look like her. Is that a wig? Or is that a new girl? I am not quite sure about the news / rumors, but it’s worth the mention. You might have to click out for the actual video. But, no she has not officially left yet.
USB spy camera in your lighter
Okay, so, we are a bit obsessed about the USB here. As you can tell by this, this, this and this. Oh, and this and this. We are crazy about any portable flash drive. But, this one, another gem from the east, is yet another inclusion to our collections that is especially yummy. It’s a spy camera in a lighter that takes pics and puts them on the drive and then all you have to do is plug it in and get the good stuff. Imagine, giving someone a lighter and then getting a glimpse of their whole days when you get it back. I want one! Of course, everything will be in keeping with consent.

Lungs is quickly becoming on of my favorite albums of the year. This song sounds like it’s about domestic abuse. Still, it’s a good time.
Frankmusik readies up debut
I am very wishy-washy about Frankmusik. Not because I think he might not have the potential, but because his songs all have good qualities without actually being good songs. It’s hard to describe, but do you know when you hear a song and it sounds like it’s getting somewhere and it never gets there? That’s what I am talking about. His first single “Better Off As Two” was sexy until I woke up the next morning. Then “Confusion Girl” worked but didn’t make me want to dance, which is so un-electro, for the lack of a better term. Let’s see if Complete Me brings it or not.
Banned German commercial for Sprite
1Why was it banned? She’s just having some Sprite. People need to loosen up. I didn’t think Germany would ban this, have the tides changed there?
Clock-in modernity and minimalism
2All you really need are the digits. No ticker, no date, no frame at all. It’s a bunch of digit-8 looking objects that you place wherever you like and it will give you the time. I am guessing each one works for something, like clocks-in hours, another does the second-digit hour, another does minutes and it goes on. It looks real sexy up on a wall, it could turn a bleak wall into a piece of minimalist art.

Dick Cheney needs to step away
3Seriously, I have ranted about it a few weeks back. But, the man just won’t budge. He needs to step away from the political landscape now. After giving the world the worst 8 years in modern times, dick needs to go to Crawford and have a golf meeting with his old buffoon. Or maybe visit Vermont, Spain or whatever place wise enough to make him a wanted man for criminal charges against humanity. Water-boarding is torture. Period. Stop beating the bush and go marvel in the wonder of all your profiteering from capitalizing on Iraqi children’s heads.
Chris Brown finally apologizes
1I don’t buy it. This is too little, too late. He thought he could ease on down out of it but it’s not happening. Some of the media might have forgotten what went down exactly and this is the perfect time for the apology, not too far away from the incident yet far enough for people to forget the details. He should have had some jail time, not too long of a sentence, but some jail time. I am against the long jail sentence not because I think his crime was light, but because I believe in a form of humanitarianism that defies the system of extreme incarceration. At any rate, the apology should have been directed at Rihanna and he should have done more doing than talking. Nice top, though.
Basement Jaxx unveil Scars
1Basement Jaxx are set to release their new album in late September. Scars is their fifth studio album and will contain there recent semi-hit “Raindrops.” The album features Sam Sparro and Santigold, who used to go by the name Santogold before but can’t know because of legal issues with some guy who is almost famous from an old informercial that claims that she is capitalizing on his name. Con-artist much? In any case, something tells me “Raindrops” is not the highlight of the album and we might just see a resurgence of the doing who have been plateauing recently.
