Kate Earl re-introduces herself

coverThis comes as a surprise because Kate Earl has been in my collection for a couple of years. In fact, Fate Is A Hunter spawned two hits in our heart – the Fiona Apple drab of “Someone To Love” and the DUI anthem “Officer.” But, she might be pulling some stops from the Joss Stone autobiography by re-positioning herself as a new and/or fresh artist with Introducing Kate Earl. The Alaska native, and hopefully non-Sarah Palin friend, is all over iTunes with this EP. It’s faster than her usual stuff from the debut album, but still doesn’t stray too far away from the singer-songwriter aura her fans know her for.

Get sassy with your knife set

neolithic-knife-frontSo, metal is out and ceramic is in. Is it environmentally friendlier? Maybe. But, it sure looks smooth and sassy. This knife set is the newest from Yanko Design. Taking inspiration from the utilitarian cooking implements of generations (long) passed, designer Matthias Kaeding has fashioned a new version of the neolithic knife. The ceramic knives have both blunt and sharp sides, allowing a full range of kitchen tasks in a single tool. A touch more attractive than the typical chefs knife, and certainly fuller in capacity.

I hate to break it to you but summer’s almost over and it’s time to stock up on the sexy winter clothes. Maybe, not in Kuwait. But, it doesn’t hurt to get this for this fall’s East European travels (Warsaw is the new Rome, didn’t you know?). Anyway, one can always count on Dior Homme to respect the skinny fashionably sensible man / FTM.
