Mariah Carey has pushed back her album to make room for a second single and now she is going head-to-head with Madonna. Mariah had to postpone Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel to ready up a ballad single and to avoid messing up Whitney Houston’s comeback. Meanwhile, Madonna fans are quick to point out that “Obsessed” was a flop because it peaked at #11 and didn’t break the top 10 completely omitting the fact that Madonna last three singles didn’t even break the top 50. “Celebration” is currently sitting pretty at glorious and successful #71. Madonna wishes she has an “Obsessed” position. You know she loves commercial success no matter how much she compromises her musical integrity.
That being said, Mariah will most probably beat Madonna to the top spot. I am not saying that because I am a lamb, but because of hard facts. Firstly, Mariah is releasing a full-length album, Madonna is releasing another one of her greatest hits packages. Second, Mariah will have two singles on radio when the album comes out and Madge only has one single that is having fun dancing around the club charts only. Thirdly, Mariah can show her arms on the cover of her album, Madonna can’t (if she wants to shift copies). Finally, nobody wants to listen to “Vogue,” “Like A Virgin” or “Material Girl” anymore.
I am so glad Mariah moved it to that date. I bet Madonna is squirming in her yoga class right about now.
Still, Madonna fans, don’t cry! You have the UK charts to look forward to. That’ll make you happy. Now watch how many queens will get so antsy about this post…

its funny how many times mariah has gotten cold feet and how many times shes had to go back and retweek her album to ready it up for a “ballad release.” Shes not avoiding whitney’s release because she doesnt want to mess up her comeback, shes just AVOIDING it period! And honestly, Madonna cared once upon a time (Hard Candy) about the US market and considered at some point Mariah Carey as a competition (Ray Of Light vs. Butterfly… yes yes both a relevant albums for both artists), but Madonna realized that Mariah holds no competition against her, and that the US is not as relevant and influential as before and compared to the rest of the universe. Newsflash: the record industry as a whole is failing due to music piracy. Everybody knows that music sales have continued to fall in recent years, and that filesharing is usually blamed. In 1998, pirate sales made up 33% of global music sales and has only continued to rise since that time. So just how reliable and accurate are the charts in the US or the UK anyway when it comes to gauging a real fan base or commercial success? Bottom line is both divas each have their own merits and unique talents (or sole talent, as in the case of Mariah) to share with the universe. Mad props to both for having the chutzpah to continue to do what they do best in such a fickle and cutthroat industry!

The two singles released recently, Obsessed and I want to know what the fuck is both didnt do well for an artist wh’s been claiming to be the biggest female superstar on the US Charts. Well well well, now let me see. If both singles plunges down, does this mean she aint doing any tours like her last album?

2 week of release = 70K

it’s quite a surprise for a greatest hits album to chart at the top on most countries like Canada, Italy, and even make it to the top 10 on the US Albums. To tell you the truth i thought Celebration is just another “Glitter”, har har har. But surprisingly it’s doing wel compared to Impercfect and even Paramore’s new album.
How’s that as a parting gift of the Queen to Warner. I think everybody’s more focused on the Revolver track, a lot say it’s a sexy-freaky hip-pop song. Cant wait to see it chart.
