2Is neosoul dead? That is the question. Maxwell is hanging on to it, while Erykah rolls another joint and Jill Scott becomes a parent. We miss it that’s for sure.
Télépopmusik ready up third album for 2010
1
The mastermind behind the debonairly relaxed “Breathe” and “Don’t Look Back” are working on a new album for 2010 not 2009. They first single “Ghost Girl” has been heavily remixed and distributed to promote the release. Although an early push would better service the album. The double single release pre-album is probably on their agenda. It is tentatively titled In The Air. The first single takes a sharper turn into darker beats. Happy chill beats have died down recently, so they are probably exploring a different branch of the same tree. All in all, “Ghost Girl” and its remixes are robust and anything but a let-down, which is what we expect from Télépopmusik.
Legendary: Audio of Pinoy having sex
This .wav file used to circulate all over the internets back in the college days and we used to think it was the cat’s pajamas. Every single line is a sound-bite. btw, NSFW.
Little Dragon bring on Machine Dreams
The Swedish electronic band with a penchant for mood are back with a second album and they are ready to prove their presence as Sweden’s Husky Rescue. Little Dreams don’t stray too far away from their older music. Still, revisiting all kinds of sombre auras with a couple of upbeat songs that are never out of sonic context. But, a definite air of maturity appears of this record and they have earned it. The first single is “Fortune” and the album is set to be release at the end of this month.
Latvian designer creates the fan clock
We love it when sleekness and practicality get married. It’s the epitome of modern. Latvian designer Stanislav Katz invented this marvel all the way from Riga and will complete it real soon. It should sweep the world over.
Even emoticons have feelings
Someone was so desperately in love with emoticons that they created a whole story about a life of a couple over at this website. Check it out.

One of the strongest voices of our generation might not fair well when it comes to the charts (Her last album Little Wild One peaked at a measly #193), but that won’t stop her from cranking up some hot songs.

12Documentary: Chris Rock’s “Good Hair”
3This is one documentary that we are bracing to watch. “Good Hair” is a film that challenges the notion of the racial implications of what hair should look like. This has gone on for years on end during and after slavery. It’s a residue of racism that has managed to cling-on while skin color precepts have been at the forefront of racial tensions. Hair is a human feature that has not gotten the same treatment as skin color in a racial context. Now, it not only serves as a benchmark for how far we have gone, but also an indicator of how much more we have to work on to dispel racial myths.
Air reveal track listing for “Love 2″
Love 2 is Air’s 7th full-length album. It is set for an October 2009 release and, girl, are we excited. Here at Loft965.com we are Air completists. There hasn’t been a single Air released that hasn’t aroused and titillated. The last album Pocket Symphony was genius from start to finish. This one is looking like it can attain the same levels with it’s lead single “Do The Joy,” which is available to download for free on their website if you subscribe to their newsletter. Click below to see the entire tracklisting for the Love 2.
Video: “Three Days In A Row” by Anouk
Anouk is readying up the release of her new album titled For Better Or Worse and this is the first single off of it. Just when she gets of the radar, she pops back. “Nobody’s Wife” is one of the greatest feminist-angst anthems on earth and she has been keeping up ever since.
Shahrukh Khan detained at US Airport
Bollywood phenom and brown heart-throb Shahrukh Khan has been detained at Newark International Airport today. Apparently, the US immigration officers thought that the actor’s last name was too terrorist-y for their liking and detained one of the East’s biggest stars for 2 or so hours. Just to check on the brownie.
Khan said: “They kept on telling me that my name is common to some name that has popped up on the computer, so they need to follow procedure,” he said. “It took them an hour and a half, two hours; they kept on asking me questions, if I could give them any … numbers in America that they can contact and vouch for me and who I am.”
Ani DiFranco performs new songs
1Ani DiFranco, one of the most prolific artists of our era, has been slowing down lately. With the new baby in tow and an extensive touring schedule who has time to record a full-length album anymore? Well, she’s not releasing 2 albums a year, but she sure has been writing a whole lot following the release of Red Letter Year.
This song (above) is called “If You’re Not” and it is bringing the folkie back in DiFranco. The rest of the tracks don’t stray too far away, but their studio re-interpretations will probably have more instrumentation. There are six new songs floating around, which is half an album. Let’s hope that a new record is in the works for the forth quarter of 2009. Click below for some more new music from Ms. Defazio.

She still tries to market that failure of an album of hers. This song won’t do it and the other tracks on the album won’t either. But, teh visual is fierce, at least.
