With all the unofficial paraphernalia floating  around on Michael Jackson it’s hard to sift through all the crap to get to the good stuff. But, now the MJ camp decided to embark on releasing some official material starting with this book. The Official Michael Jackson Opus is supposed to feature never seen pictures of the icon. it will also include new biographical information and a bunch of personal poetry and scribbles. This is exciting for all Michael Jackson completists and fans.

Britney Spears sells herself on facebook

With the recession in full affect and CD sales on a fast plummet, stars have taken to other mediums to market themselves and make a little money on the way. Britney Spears has taken a new route: selling little icons of hers on Facebook gifts. One is free and 5 are not. That way, all her fans can give her 5 dollars each. That’s some mad money, if you ask me. Not to mention the double or triple buys from friends. It’s an interesting way to market an artist while making money. Still, one can just cut and paste the image really.

Low-life republican tears picture of Rosa Parks up

Amidst this debate on healthcare that is everywhere in the US, tensions are rising between the murderous conservatives and the progressive liberals. So much so that the true colors of conservatives are showing and it isn’t anything you’ll see on a rainbow. This time this old git of a tea-bagger walks up to a black women showing her poster to a reporter and tears it up. Guess who was escorted out? It was a picture of Rosa Parks. Not Obama, not a protest sign. The good thing is that they are pulling themselves down with all this bigotry that they hid behind the guise of conservatism.

Ongina, our favorite contestant from RuPaul’s Drag Race reality show, has just launched her own blog and it looks like it’s going to be a banger. Ongina dazzled everyone with her unique take on drag and her amazing sense of fashion. She was also the inspiration behind RuPaul’s highlight of a song “LadyBoy,” which The Supermodel Of The World should take into consideration as her third single from Champion and make a lush video starring Ongina herself. We are really excited to follow every post. Visit the blog here.

Annie’s “Don’t Stop” finally gets a release date

This ballast of pop visual goodness is the new cover to Annie’s re-vamped and re-labelled album Don’t Stop. After some tumult, the Norwegian goddess finally landed a record deal with an indie label that is bound to cater to her needs more than Island Records. The album will contain some of the sexy tracks from the leaked version but with a couple more. Surprisingly, “I Know UR Girlfriend Hates Me” won’t make it! So glad that she is finally getting what she deserves – a release date and it’s November 17th of this year. The album features production work from previous collaborators Timo and Richard X, as well as Xenomania and Paul Epworth. Can’t Wait! Click below for the tracklisting:

This promo photo of Janet Jackson’s next venture into the pop world has just started and, girl, it is looking fierce! I love everything about it and Janet looks a little like Michael re-incarnate. I adore it and I am glad one of the greatest pop artists on earth is not letting anyone hinder her impact on music and culture. Loving every minute of the shoot and we hope to see more of the pictures circulating.

Nelly Furtado reveals cover for “Mi Plan”

Nelly Furtado

Still bitter that she decided to release a Spanish album. But, Mi Plan (which, while taking an educated guess, might mean “My Plan”) has the best album cover of hers. She still has to use the hippie font for her name, which has become some sort of a logo for her, but the color and the overall visual of the album is not so bad. Only saying that because she is notorious for hideous sleeves.

Karl Lagerfeld insults feminists and women

9

Karl Lagerfeld

Karl Lagerfeld has gone and done it again. The Chanel head has gone on an insulting binge. Right after he attacked Heidi Klum and Seal (in a manner with racist undertones) he has gone out after feminists and women whom he makes a living dressing. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar he was answering some questions and channeling Coco Chanel for the answers. The magazine wanted to create an expose of the deceased fashion icon and thought Lagerfeld would be a good “channeler.” This is how it happened:

Harper’s Bazaar: Your clothing liberated women in the 1920s. Are you still a feminist?
Karl Lagerfeld as Coco Chanel: I was never a feminist because I was never ugly enough for that.

Yeah. Because he is the picture of international beauty. What a douche that doesn’t deserve a single minute in an industry that is supposed to be creative and liberal. Moreover, his sole purpose on this earth is to dress women up. Now he brands feminists ugly? Why? Because they don’t eat a piece of lettuce a day and do as they are told. I bet Coco is rolling over in her grave right now. Someone needs to rummage through that huge library of his and put in some Germaine Greer and Andrea Dworkin.

Must-Watch: Video: “Jungle Drum” by Emilíana Torrini

The video that was posted a couple of month back was not the official one. This is. It wasn’t posted earlier in avoidance of being redundant. It’s a very late video release for an album that has been around for a year or so now. Armini & Me had a bunch of great songs including the title track and “Dead Duck,” which had a great instrumental ending that could have been a song by itself. Also, “Big Jumps” deserves a mention.
