As we said before, 2009 is La Roux’s year and this track is the cherry on the top. It’s one of those tracks that a band leaves for emergencies, in case an album tanks. La Roux has a whole lot of hidden gems on there, but this along with “Bulletproof” are the highlights. This could be remixed to be a great club tune with its distinctive riff and her squeaky vocals.
Documentary: Hungry for change?

Food, Inc., a documentary currently viewing in independent movie theaters across the United States and Canada, is a must-watch. It blatantly illustrates how the food industry has been eaten up by a few large giants and demonstrates how politically active the executives are in congress.
Food is a necessity. People today have been too consumed with processed foods to the extent that the relationship from farm to table is no longer traceable. The nation that created the fast-food phenomena is now in the midst of an obesity epidemic. Genetically Modified Foods resulted in larger sizes and faster growth. Does it taste the same, though, or have we forgotten their original taste? Hmm.
Parrots are smart!
Madonna visits Queen Rania in Jordan
7Apparently, Madonna has crossed over the dead sea on her trip to Israel to go visit Jordan. And who was there to receive her? None other than Queen Rania herself. This would be Madonna’s second reported visit to the Arab world. Back in the early 80s’ she went to Morocco to shoot something for a French TV channel and absolutely hated it. That is documented in Christopher Ciccone’s tell-all. That’s more than a quarter of a century ago.
Fresh: Video: “Feelings Gone” by Basement Jaxx featuring Sam Sparro
This might be the last Basement Jaxx single. At least from Scars. Liking the new Sam Sparro do. His vocals are intact but the song’s mediocre. We’ll see what will happen out of this.
Leona Lewis’s cover for next single “Happy”
6This is the cover for Leona Lewis’s new single “Happy” from the album Echo. Doesn’t the pose look very similar to this?

Don’t Quote Me, Vol. 248
Fresh: Video: “Gold Digger (3D Version)” by Dolly Rockers
We got out our 3D glasses for this one and it’s a totally different treat than the other version. It’s a little surreal and makes us want to go to London for a hot minute.
Robbie Williams reveals cover for new album, debuts “Bodies”
2We like it. This angle makes him look younger and thinner. Not that we don’t like a little chub on him. This is very exciting as it will be his “comeback” Sort of. Well, we didn’t think his last one was bad at all, but, hey, we love comebacks. The color scheme is a little too close to Escapology. From the bits and pieces we heard, Reality Killed The Video Star has a completely different sound. Click below to hear the full-length version of the new single “Bodies”
Will your iPhone blend?
We don’ get what the fascination is about breaking newly unboxed gadgets. It’s all over the ‘tube. This is done with a blender though, so it’s special!
Oh, the crazies!
Beverley Knight is back!
2This is the TV promo for 100%. We know we have been dogging you for ages now on this album, but we are mucho excited for the release which is happening in three days. So exciting!
Handheld personal air conditioner
1Too bad summer’s almost over, because some of us could have used this new personal AC. It’s handheld and operated on four AA batteries. It weigh 7 ounces (I am guessing without the batteries) and it is USB power compatible. It could also humidify. Check it out here.
Fresh: Video: “Admit It” by Esmée Denters
Justin Timberlake is really trying to push his “discovery” of audiences even when her debut single “Outta Here” didn’t perform so well or as expected. Especially considering her Oprah appearance and all the publicity that went into it. This song can be fun in a club, but that’s about it.
Booty Luv ready up “Say It”
Booty Luv are finally talking about their new release. The album is titled after the first single. It’s called Say It and it will contain no cover versions what so ever. Booty Luv have worked with many different producers as opposed to one and plan on introducing new sounds. Some tracks on the album are “edgier” and include R&B and poppier sounds. It’s slated for a third quarter release along with another single.
The world’s largest gummy bear
26Yeah, this is not on our wish list. Thanks, D. Bookmark the blog if you like this.
Mariah Carey reveals cover for “I Want To Know What Love Is”
The wait is over. The cover for the second single from Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel is out. “I Want To Know What Love Is” is growing on us and this cover is the best of the era. It would have been a better album cover than the one with the triplets. We are glad she’s branching out with new fonts other than Lagune. She looks good and the song’s gospel-tinted drama showcases a different side to the cover that many thought wasn’t doable. Of course, we support Mariah if she released a compilation of farts. But, still it’s great!
Whitney Houston to land on the #1 spot, beats Miley Cyrus
4The numbers are in and it looks like Whitney’s album will take the top spot beating teen queen Miley Cyrus by a stretch. The sales are estimated to be a quarter of a million during the first week, which is grand for a dying market. That’s enough to put her there for a couple of weeks but it happened all in the debut week. Disney tweens are angry!!
