So, Madonna, in her pursuit to alienate her core fan base and, ultimately, reach a wider American market, once attempted doing a duet or a collaboration of sorts with Eminem. Yes, the chick that was discovered in the Dancetaria wanted to work with the poster child of homophobia. She says in her interview with Rolling Stone “I wanted to work with Eminem. I don’t think he wanted to work with me. Maybe he’s shy.” Or maybe you’re an ingrate?
Chris Crocker fights the good fight…
Twitter is down!
4Seriously again! Twitter is acting up. If they are aiming to take over the social network world they need to fix this. We are sick and tired of trying to log on and seeing that whale being carried by a bunch of tweety birds. There is this website is created merely to check if twitter is down because it has the tendency to do so. Check it here.
Premiere: Video: “Who’d Have Known” by Lily Allen
2It’s Not Me, It’s You is still going strong. This video had something to do with the fight Elton John had with Lily Allen on the stage of the GQ Awards last year. The song is great and it samples Take That’s “Shine.”
Go vegetarian…
1Premiere: Video: “Rain” by MIKA
2We are not loving MIKA’s new album at all. This is, what seems to be, the third single released real fast. The beat is get-uppable but the screeching is tired and old.
A-Ha have split after 25 years together…
Norwegian synth-pop band A-ha known mostly for the penciled-in video for the song “Take On Me” have split. The band have kept releasing albums for a while and have achieved some moderate success in parts of Europe. They have just released an album titled Foot Of The Mountain and seemed to be going strong. Here’s their statement:
“With the current album ‘Foot of The Mountain’ enjoying both commercial success and critical acclaim, A-ha has decided to call it a day… We’ve literally lived the ultimate boy’s adventure tale, through a longer, more rewarding career than anyone could hope for. Doing this now will give us a chance to get more involved in other meaningful aspects of life, be it humanitarian work, politics, or whatever else – and of course through new constellations in the field of art and music. We are retiring as a band, not as individuals. Change is always difficult and It is easy to get set in one’s ways. Now it is time to move on.”
Premiere: Video: “Working Girl” by Peppermint
This is some outdated yet fun dance music. We had the privilidge of seeing Peppermint at Horse Meat Disco and she worked it hard! The dancers were great and she brought down the house. This is a new single of her available on iTunes and it reference the legendary documentary Paris Is Burning with the term “Working Girl” which is a phrase used to subtly to refer to prostitution.
Get musical while eating…
1Why hasn’t anyone thought of musical holes until now? We guess farting harmonically counts! Get it here.

Finland makes internet access a human right!
1Finland understands the potential of information and the access to it. Therefore, one of our favorite countries stepped up to introduce a law that would make it mandatory for every citizen to have a physical connection to the internet of at least 1 Mbps speed. Yes, you read it right. It’s a requirement by law and if that’s not enough, by 2015, everybody should have a connection that is 100 Mbps or faster. That doesn’t mean that the people will not pay for it, it just means that every person has the right to have a connection whenever they want to. Now, that’s what we call progress!
Obama dances with Thalia, Michelle and Mottola may be angry…
1Thalia is good at snatching husbands. Did we just go there? At any rate, it’s a funny video.
Royal Mail makes album artwork stamps, no female artist featured
4The Royal Mail has taken on music for their next batch of stamps set to debut in January. But, one things missing that no one reported on. From the 10 album covers selected, no a single one of them is buy a female artist. Surely all of the artists are from the UK and feature some great monumental albums such as The Clash’s London Calling and Blur’s Parklife (click below for full list), but not a single female artist? Not even Kate Bush’s The Red Shoes or something from Annie Lennox (not even the Eurythmics). Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black deserves a nod. It’s really just sad that all the Q-heads keep deciding what is credible and what is not with their music snobbery and knack for sexism.
Video: “This Is Who I Am” by Vanessa Amorosi
Vanessa Amorosi became popular for her song “Absolutely Everybody” back in 1999. She continues being popular back in her home of Australia with a couple of albums and single. She has just had her first number 1 single. It is also the first single by an Aussie female singer to debut at #1 since Kylie’s last one. Her album is called Hazardous and this is from it.

Must-Watch: Video: “بابا فين” by Haifa Wehbe
2We don’t usually feature Arabic videos because we personally don’t listen to Arabic songs at all. But, Haifa is an exception and this video reminds us of our shroom days with its psychedelic special effects and hallucinogenic aura. Also, we think Haifa’s overtly sexualized persona is just what this part of the world needs. A person that is not ashamed or afraid of sex. It’s only natural. At any rate, she’s probably doing a children’s album, a la Nancy Ajram.
