“There are some days when I think I’m going to die from an overdose of satisfaction.”
- Salvador Dali
One of UK’s greatest alternative bands are back to commemorate their careers. Skin put her illustrious solo career to release this greatest hits album with 3 new tracks. “Because Of You” is the new single of these three. We are glad there’s some new material. The album is aptly titled Smashes & Trashes.
American Apparel has gone and done it again. They are set to release two more t-shirts that are political oriented. This comes after “Legalize LA,” which as for reform in California’s legal system. Then came “Legalize Gay,” which is a call for ending discrimination whether it’s Prop 8 or other laws. Now, AA has decided to release t-shirts that depict scenes from early pride parades when it was more politics and less glam.
Perez Hilton’s boy wonder has released his new single. It’s also the title of his album. It’s colorful and very light. It’s like MIKA’s forgotten innocent brother got a record contract. Oh, and he’s gayer. So, that’s always good.
La Roux are finally embarking on a mini tour called the Gold Tour. The gigs will all be in the UK and they will go on sale on October 30th. Click below for the dates.
Chill-out kinds Groove Armada are back with a little more glam and twirl than usual. The twosome are ready to release their new album Black Light. This is the first single off of their effort. It’s called “I Won’t Kneel.” After a 3 year hiatus, the band is back with a new sound. They explained: “Black Light and it is going to be the darker side of Groove Armada, which is finally coming out after 12 years.”
This wasn’t expected at all. Adam Lambert has gone and created one of the fiercest covers of the year. For Your Entertainment is the 2nd place American Idol’s debut album. This is the cover for it and it is reminiscent of 80s’ androgyny. It’s like something Toya would do. The colors are exuberant and he almost looks feline. The question is: how will this cover go on Wal-Mart stands.
These are two clips from Margaret Cho’s 5th stand-up comedy DVD titled Beautiful. It has taken a while for Margaret to put out a DVD since Assassin. And it’s her first in with democratic administration in office. So, the DVD’s going to be a little different with the usual great mixture of preachiness and laughs.
Nicolas Jonas had a solo career before he hit the big time with his album Nicholas Jonas. However, he is set to take on another project without the other Jonas Brothers. Apparently, he is doing the whole thing under cover before they go on tour. The album should surface sometime early 2010.
This controversy behind all of this is frankly sickening. They used body doubles to do what? Emulate Michael Jackson? We all know he is often imitated and never duplicated. LaToya, as much as we love her, is getting on our nerves. She needs to concentrate on her ailing career and projects that never take off.
The official cover for Rihanna’s muchly-anticipated new album Rated R is here. This is how it looks. She’s opting for the black and white mysticism with a little Grace Jones thrown in. This looks like it is taken from her Vogue Italia sessions. It turns out that the first single from the album is “Russian Roulette.” Also “The Wait Is Ova” is rumored to be the second single, although we don’t like it much.
Kathy
Kathy Griffin is always a breath of fresh air. Her brand of comedy is unlike any other and we can’t wait to get Official Book Club Selection.
Amerie’s already ill-fated new album In Love & War has been leaked. And some of us over here think it’s so annoying that it was deleted on first listen. Yes, Amerie’s new album failed to deliver any hits. “Why R U” and “Heard Em All” both brought some loud beats but not catchy ones. Well, it’s available to download now. It’s spewed all over the blogs.
Alphabeat’s second album The Spell has leaked. The album is lush with early dance beats in tribute to 90s’ house music and just general fun. News is out that the next single from the aforementioned album is DJ. It’s a fun sing-along kind of track, which has the potential to be nicely remixed. We can’t wait for the video and the sleeve.
We hope he’s Ok.
Tired of the old-old of jeans when you go to the Diesel shop? Don’t fret, this new collection shines even in the dark. They are glow in the dark pants. They basically are the same designs in the day, but then add a little outdated flair when you walk into blacklight. Does anyone know anymore clubs that are not in the midwest that have blacklights, still? Click here for more.
We don’t think he will get over the Rihanna incident anytime soon.
