Andrew Lloyd Webber has been diagnosed with prostate cancer

English composer of musical theatre Andrew Lloyd Webber has been diagnosed with cancer. The diagnosis was for prostate cancer that is in it’s early stages. He is undergoing treatment as of now and is expected to be OK by the end of the year. He is well know for his musicals Phantom of the Opera, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Jesus Christ Superstar. Also, he penned Boyzone’s great “No Matter What” and Evita‘s “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina. Plus, Jade Ewen (the newest addition to the Sugababes) had a solo semi-hit with “My Man” for Eurovision, which is another song he wrote.

Against all odds, Shiloh Pepin of Portland, Maine turned 8 years old in August 2007. She was born with Mermaid Syndrome, or Sirenomelia, one of the rarest conditions known to man. This condition means the foetus fails to develop normally below the waist, resulting in a fusion of the lower limbs. Of the few foetuses that actually make it to birth, most die within hours of leaving the womb.

Lindsay Lohan dropped from record label, working for Ungaro for free…

We previously reported and posted the video for Lindsay Lohan’s Ungaro debut. It turns out that allegedly Lindsay had very little to do with the designing. She was flown over and put in a hotel. Other than that she was given 100,000 to spend on Ungaro clothing. Yes, she got store credit for this gig!

On top of that, she has been dropped by her record label Casablanca Records. She no longer has a deal with them, which means that “Bossy” will not be tacked onto an album. Moreover, the album, which was set to be a fusion of some Kylie and some Rihanna, is probably abandoned. It’s not looking good for the Lohan!

Boy George talks about jail time…

This is Boy George’s first revelatory interview about his jail sentence for his imprisonment of an Norwegian rent boy. He looks the same as he did years ago. He said that he expected it, so we feel sorry for him a little bit. But, he liked being tagged and restrained.  That must’ve been an exercise in discipline. Corinne Bailey Rae releasing new album titled “The Sea”

Corinne Bailey Rae disappeared for a while after the tragic death of her husband from an overdose. She halted her writing and took a break. But now, it seems that Corinne Bailey Rae has return to the studio to work on an album slated for a January 2010 release. The folk-soulstress is back with a second album titled The Sea. We can’t wait to hear from her.

Orianthi is an Australian guitarist who has worked with Prince and was supposed to work with Michael Jackson on his This Is It residency at the O2 in London. That didn’t work out. So, she is about to put out her debut album Believe. However, rock should never be templated. That’s why even though she has a great way with the guitar she comes off as an Avril Lavigne knock-off five years too late.

Ambient remixes have disappeared. Mainly, due to the timeliness of the genre and its disregard by the dance community. So, it comes as a surprised that Florence + The Machine commissioned this remix with a male vocalist. It’s not stand alone remix, but it definitely gives the song a different perspective.

She also voices the character Gwen Tennyson on Cartoon Network’s show Ben 10 & Ben 10: Secret of the Omnitrix and voiced Rachel. This is her new offering off of her latest album The Cricket’s Orchestra. She explained this about the track: “I wrote “If You Asked Me” about a guy that I met and fell madly in love with based solely on his dancing abilities, and I found myself saying yes to things that perhaps I should have said no to.”

Did Miley Cyrus have a case of swine flu?

Apparently, news around the blogosphere is that back when Miley Cyrus ran off stage because she felt sick it wasn’t just any other flu. It was allegedly the dreaded H1N1 “swine” flu. Yes, everyone’s favorite tween idol suffered from the one scary disease. This wasn’t formerly tweeted by her and it wasn’t from her rep or pa. It was announced by a co-star.

Update:  The Miley Cyrus camp just confirmed that her illness was not H1N1, but a case of strep throat.
