Skye Edwards, former frontwoman of Morcheeba, has released an album and nobody knew about it. Even Wikipedia doesn’t list it. Some major retailers don’t have it. It’s aptly titled Keeping Secrets. We currently can’t find it anywhere. Her MySpace pages says little about it. Why?

Hello you. My album release is no secret. I just don’t have a huge marketing campaign behind it. Anyhow, thanks for letting people know my record is out there! Not in shops yet, tho. Cheers Skye
Are you really Skye?
Hey, Skye, I’m listening to your album now on Napster. It’s beautiful!
Here’s what I don’t understand;
You’ll have to forgive me if I sound bitter, but why doesn’t Skye have a label? She’s absolutely legendary, and the Godfrey boys were stupid to think Morcheeba could exist, post- Skye (although they are wicked sick musicians). Her voice is irreplacable and priceless. Her first solo album, Mind how you go- which was a total success, and a personal favorite of mine, made a serious artistic statement. For Skye and her fans. So it’s disappointing for me to see other familiar artists within the same genre (e.g. Portishead, Tricky, Massive Attack, etc.) releasing new albums and not even continue to collaborate with Skye, post-Morcheeba.
A Massive Attack collaboration someday would be great, and I don’t think it would be impossible, look at their new album… it features Martina Topley-Bird a brilliant pairing but quite a surprise they would work with Tricky’s muse.
Apparently Jhelisa has been in the studio with MA at least 3 occasions, it’s a crime they haven’t released those tracks yet!
By the way, you can find Keeping Secrets LP on I-Tunes, and there are new CDs on Ebay!
This post was out before the release.
I stumbled upon this page again so thought I’d to answer your questions:
Yep it’s really me. I chose not to be on a label, they are all about “take take take”.
You can get Keeping Secrets on itunes. But I have stopped selling it on eBay for now.
There is no way there would be a Skye ~ Massive Attack collaboration. I love them but they can’t stand Morcheeba.
Talking of Morcheeba, if you ain’t heard by now, we’ve just done a new album together.
Cheers
Wow! Skye Yay! I found your “keeping secrets” album on eMusic.com! The cover is stunningly gorgeous! I wish I could buy a poster or T-shirt with the cover on it!
