Celine Dion suffers a miscarriage

The news just in that Celine Dion is no longer pregnant. The singer suffered from a miscarriage. InTouch Weekly explains: “In unfortunate news for Celine Dion and her husband Rene Angelil, the singer is no longer pregnant, a source close to the family tells In Touch. “While she and Rene are actively trying for a baby, she is not currently expecting,” the friend says. In August, a rep for the “My Heart Will Go On” star confirmed her pregnancy, while reports surfaced that she used fertility treatments to expand her family. Celine and Rene have an 8-year-old son, Rene-Charles.”

She just released her debut album A State Of Aya and it’s sounding good right about now. South Africa seems to have a great niche for jazzy wander. We’ll keep an eye out for her.

It’s called Number Ones in some countries and The Best in others. Not that there’s anything new in it at all, but in case you are a Janet Jackson completist you might want to have this. “I Am” starts off a bit like “Everything” but ends up being a meddling R&B template. It’s not that special, to say the truth. Mary J. Blige has been struggling recently to produce a hit. With three singles out ahead of the release of her new album Stronger, she should have garnered a hit or two. But, she hasn’t and this doesn’t look like it will go anywhere. Mary needs to stay away from mainstream hits and concentrate on making big perseverance number a la “No More Drama.” Her sound was so fresh, now if it wasn’t for the voice it could come from anyone. Premiere: Video: “United Snakes” by Massive Attack

Massive Attack are currently mixing their upcoming fifth studio album. Robert del Naja had suggested Weather Underground was its working title, although the final title has not been announced. Officially confirmed guest vocalists are Horace Andy, Tunde Adebimpe, Damon Albarn, Hope Sandoval, Guy Garvey and Martina Topley-Bird.

Several artists did record sessions but will not appear in the album. These artists are Jhelisa Anderson (also recorded unreleased material in 2002), Stephanie Dosen, Yolanda Quarty (of Phantom Limb), Aku and Akwetey Orraca-Tetteh of Dragons of Zynth, Elizabeth Fraser, Dot Allison, Debbie Clare, Mike Patton, Fredo Viola and Beth Orton.
