David Byrne’s Imelda Marcos project gets some promo, track listing

1

We posted about this back in April, and it’s about ready to be made public. David Byrne has finalized the project and it’s a double CD set that includes some of the best female musicians in the music world. It was supposed to be a musical about shoe-loving Imelda Marcos and her maid. A sort of cross-dialogue between the oppressor and the oppressed. We are fascinated by it and waiting for it’s February 23rd, 2010 release. Click below for the full tracklisting of Here Lies Love with the guest vocalists.

Tori Amos reveals more live material from “Midwinter Graces”

May we just lament on the fact that Tori Amos’s Midwinter Graces is a grower and probably one of the best seasonal album ever. She’s taken little ditties that everybody had forgotten and given them the Tori treatment. It’s lovely for the season. Click below to watch and listen to the live tracks from the album.

Little Boots covers “No More I Love You’s”

1

Little Boots is capping off the year with a cover of a song made popular by Annie Lennox. Contrary to what other blogs are saying, “No More I Love You’s” is actually covers by Annie Lennox and not her song. It appeared of her covers album Medusa and it’s originally sung by The Lover Speaks. It murmured around the charts in 1986 and was then re-done by Annie Lennox in 1995 and peaked at #2. Good song.

Introducing… Daisy Dares You

1

Daisy Dares You is a new singer with a song of the same title. The British singer is great fusion between Girls Aloud and Republica. Her voice is unique and her looks are a bit porcelain doll. The sound is a grower and, surely, with a little promo it will go a long way. Daisy Dares You has been selected as one of the BBC’s artists to look out for in 2010. Click here for her MySpace page.

Sugababes release “Santa Baby” as single

1

OK, so there’s not much to he her but some typeface. But, this single comes at an interesting time when the Sugababes are no longer the originals, Amelle’s getting breakdowns left and right and their album’s been delayed. This single is called a “promo single” and it will be available only as a digital download and will not appear on their upcoming album Sweet 7. The trio are set to release their third official single “Wear My Kiss” on February 1st, 2010. It’ll be hard for them to win us over with this cover as it has been done before by Madonna and Kylie Minogue. But, we’ll see.

Elton John working on a dance album!

1

Spinner has just confirmed that Elton John is indeed working of a dance album. We can’t imagine Elton doing dance, the closest thing was “I’m Still Standing.” Anyway, here’s what they had to say: “Proving that you’re never too old to hit the dancefloor, it has been revealed Sir Elton John is set to release an album of dance music after working with Australian producers P’Nau. Best known for their work with Empire of the Sun, the production team are set to move Sir Elton into totally uncharted territory and in the process have sparked a furious bidding war between labels eager to release the material. A source close to the singer told the Sun: ‘Elton says he’s writing his most exciting new stuff for years — possibly decades. Working with P’Nau has got the creative juices flowing again. They have got a load of big companies sniffing around.’”

Waste Management is the third English-language album by Russian duo t.A.T.u. The album will be released on December 15, 2009. The album was originally planned to be released in 2008. According to the press release, the album cover that was released in early 2008 will be used for the release. The digital version of the album will be available on two versions, both contain the same songs. One version is called the “Track by Track” version, this version includes each song separately. The other version is the “Single Track” or “Transcendent Version”, this version includes all the songs in a continued format, it means that there is no pause in between the songs. Only the “Transcendent Version” will be the one included on the physical CD. Let’s hope it has a hit or two.

Cassettes are set to make a comeback

2

Our favorite item and one of the best technological advancements of the millennium is set to make a comeback. Record companies are set to re-stock cassettes two years after canceling them. This is due to a niche in the market by senior listeners that has been growing. Yes, some people still don’t do CD’s or MP3′s. Click here to read all about it.

Jennifer Lopez’s single “Louboutins” is cancelled!

2

Jennifer Lopez’s new venture into the music world is proving to be like her previous three – a flop. Her fall from grace on the AMAs was both figurative and literal. “Louboutins” the horrid little single from the album Love? is no longer a single even if she did all the promo to go along with it. Sad day from J.Lo! The single is failing to chart and now the record label are claiming that it’s a “buzz single.” Whatever.

Rihanna poses topless for GQ magazine cover

2

Anything to shift sales as of now. Rated R is as stale as old bread. Everyones, seen her naked photos anyway. Well, Rihanna is on the cover with her tittays almost out. A better picture will be posted once one surfaces. The word our on the blog block is that Rihanna’s record company is already readying up a re-packaged Rated R to boost sales.

Leona Lewis covers Oasis’s “Stop Crying Your Heart Out”

1

Leona Lewis visited X-Factor to sing her version of Oasis’s “Stop Crying Your Heart Out” from their album Heathen Chemistry and her album Echo. The song is one of the best considering the balderdash on the album. This comes as a surprise because Noel Gallagher himself has criticized Leona Lewis for covering Snow Patrol’s “Run” last year. Maybe the money’s good now that Oasis are no longer?

Cary Hart gets tattoo of P!nk

On-again, off-again couple Pink and Cary Hart are back together. And to commemorate the return Cary Hart has gone and gotten a tattoo of P!nk on him. The tattoo is a skull and blood version of Pink, but we are sure Alecia Moore doesn’t mind as she’s a rockstar, she’s got her rock moves. Glad to hear they are back together. Now, let’s get a new album.
