This French quartet are a band like no other. Fusing elements of rebel rock with pop sensibility. They are readying up their sophomore album About Love and this is the ruckus lead single titled “Bitch.”

Ke$ha debuts at #1 on iTunes with “Tik Tok”
Who would have thought that a little-known MySpace artist who had a small part of a Flo Rida song would debut on #1 on the iTunes chart for songs. Yes, Ke$ha has broken through with her single “Tik Tok,” which has reached #1 in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Currently, it’s at #3 in the US and #5 in the UK. We are not expecting a GaGa rise to fame, but 2010 might be her year. The songs we are listening to now “Blah Blah Blah” and “Kiss And Tell” are both too noisy for our liking. But, they are just teasers. So, there might be something else on her debut album Animal, which will drop on January 5th, 2010.
Premiere: Video: “Chase The Tear” by Portishead
Portishead’s 3rd album came after a long hiatus in front of a musical world that has departed the trip hop days. Their sound wass louder and more industrial. Their album, aptly titled Third, didn’t do as well as expected. However, they are back with a sound that is closer to that that put them on the map with this Amnesty International single that was debuted on Human Rights Day. “Chase The Tear” is a reference to a tear in paper, not a tear that comes out of an eye.
Madonna dropped by LV, attends “A Single Man” premiere
2
In a recession like this, Madonna is surely too expensive for once luxurious brand, now mainstream outlet Louis Vuitton. LV did not renew their contract with the iconoclast, but opted for a cheaper, younger and less photoshopped model named Lara Stone. This move is being cited as a Madonna snub but Marc Jacobs probably just wants to keep it fresh. In other new, Madonna supported friend and fashion designer Tom Ford at the recent premiere of his movie A Single Man (above).
Sneak Peak at Jacksons: A Family Dynasty reality show
This show was supposedly being readied before Michael Jackson’s death, which is weird that the logo has a five in it (“Jack5ons”) to emphasize the Michael factor. At any rate, Jermaine is the only Jackson sybling we don’t really like. And this whole vehicle is being spun around him. This is the same brother that sold his story to make a TV movie about his brother and the one who originally broke up the Jackson 5. But, Tito’s always fun. So, we’ll watch in hopes of some Rebbie or LaToya or maybe even some Janet, which is unlikely.
Official album cover for Cazwell’s “Watch My Mouth”
1The world’s first gay rapper Cazwell (aside from alleged closet cases Missy Elliott, Da Brat, MC Lyte, Pras and Eminem) is releasing his second album Watch My Mouth alongside the single “Tonight,” which has a video that pays tribute to German movie Run, Lola, Run except with a tranny running down the streets of Manhattan. The single features a sample from Shannon’s “Give Me Tonight.”
Leighton Meester’s first ever live performance!
Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester is concentrating on her music career right before the release of her album as her first single with Robin Thicke “Somebody To Love” is making waves and impressing a whole lotta radio stations.
This is the iWallet…
The iWallet is the new advancement in security technology. It’s a wallet that has thumb-print detection to open up the wallet. Yes, the wallet will not open up unless it reads your fingerprint. That way, even if you lose your wallet, you’ll get some good time to cancel your credit cards. Too bad about the cash, though. Click here.
Video: “All Over The World” by Pet Shop Boys
This is a song from their Christmas EP coming out today. It’s really not that different from any of their latest work and Neil Tennant’s voice never changes and/or he never tries new things with his vocals. It’s basically footage of tours dates.
Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together” picked by Billboard as song of the decade!
1Billboard has announced that the most popular song of the decade is Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together.” The song stayed at #1 for 14 consecutive weeks and at a certain point Mariah also had the #2 spot with “Shake It Off.” The single was the second from The Emancipation Of Mimi and is responsible for her comeback. The song went double platinum and hold second place for consecutive weeks at the top spot only to Mariah Carey’s duet with Boyz II Men “One Sweet Day.”
Premiere: Video: “My Secret Lover” by Private
1As noted by Jorge, Private are not such a new band. And their song “My Secret Lover” is not a new song either. But, the bonanza surrounding them is because they are planning to re-release their music not just in their native Denmark but internationally. This is the new video for their song.
Joe McElderry wins X-Factor
5Joe McElderry is the winner of the sixth series of X-Factor and Cheryl Cole’s second champion. Joe McElderry’s first song in the final, the theme being songs the contestants sang in their audition, was Luther Vandross’s “Dance With My Father,” the song he sung in his audition for the show. His second song of the night, was a duet with George Michael of “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me,” which was a duet with Elton John. His third song was “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word”, which he had sung at the judges houses stage and the eighth live show. During his performances, Dannii Minogue dubbed McElderry a “brilliant performer”, and Simon Cowell said that he is “really special”. McElderry secured his place in Sunday night’s final after winning the public vote alongside Olly Murs. Stacey Solomon narrowly missed out in a place despite giving her most confident performances of the whole series. They both performed the winner’s song “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus in Sunday night’s final. This probably means that this will be his first single. McElderry was backed by Louis Walsh to win the competition.
Jack Penate performs “Let’s All Die” live
One of the best songs on his album Everything Is New. It should get the video treatment. Also, the band’s not bad looking at all.
Beijing architects to create an “urban forest”
A design company by the name of MAD are creating what they call an urban forest. A high-rise building that is supposed to incorporate apartments and gardens on each floor. It’s shape will cater to that landscaping. The skyscraper is set to be built in Chongqing, China. Architects are now thinking environmentally and aesthetically.
Footballer pees during game
Official cover for Alexandra Burke’s “Broken Heels”
Alexandra Burke has released the video and the cover for her third single. She’s looking stellar and beautiful as usual. The covers sexy and it keeps with the theme of the album. We can’t ask for more now, she has to break out of the reality show bubble and start experimenting with visuals.
Massimo Tartaglia assaults Berlusconi
This happened in Milan a little while ago while Italy’s Prime minister Berusconi was meeting and greeting his supporters. We never condone violence of any sorts, but, just as the shoe throwing incident with George W. Bush brought a certain amount of sweet justice, this one does too. Berlusconi has been known for his chauvinistic jokes, his strong anti-human rights stances, his racist comments (once directed at Obama) and his sense of supriority over the Arab world. He is also in love with Bush. A leader of the “center-right” in Italy who also happens to be embroiled in endless sex scandals and alleged ties with the mafia. Pn top of all that, he has a strong hold on the media that has given Italy low rating in the Freedom Houses indexes. We don’t sympathize with him at all, but we remain with our pacifist beliefs, even if the damage he has done to lives is way much more than two broken teeth and a fractured nose.
