This is insane, you can’t even see the water.

We’re not fans of the showy-showy, but we are fans of the modern and the sleek. And frankly, with all this BBM bonanza and its clunky interface, we are kind of missing our Nokia binges. Anyway, Nokia, trying to find a midway between their regular phones and their luxury brand Vertu, have come up with this gold-plated standard of a cell phone. It’s so easy on the eyes.
Previously known as Arsenium, Arsenie Todiraş’s the youngest member of the Moldovan O-Zone who gave us the song “Dragostea Din Tei,” which was later basterdized by Rihanna for her collaboration with T.I. “Live Your Life.” At any rate, the accent adds a touch.
Finally, some good news on the progression of the Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel remix album. Now, it’s two albums to please everyone. MariahDaily.com has just announced that Mariah Carey will be releasing two of them. One is of R&B and hip hop mixes, which was the initial release. And the other, straight up dance remixes. Yes, Mariah is reworking her new songs to create her first ever dance album. This is good news to many. Let’s hope she brings out David Morales, Miguel Migs and Vasquez for this one.
We stumbled upon this new video by accident and we love it. Who is she and where can we sign up to be best friends with her. She is fierce. Her album is slated for a 2010 and we really do need a female rapper of sorts. She only likes Benjamin Franklin.
It had to be coming. David is the new Bebe Zahara Benet. He especially likes the one that mom wears for “La Isla Bonita.” Here’s what a legendary drag queen had to say about David’s impeccable taste in fashion.
This is just how we like our liberal: aggressive and unrelenting. Rep. Alan Grayson says it like it is.
Originally thought to be this one, the real cover has surfaced and it’s a little bit better. The album’s starkly different than 5:55 and it ushers in a new era of Charlotte Gainsbourg, a rockier and edgier version. Not to say that that’s better, but it’s still a different take on a voice we’ve come to love. IRM features the single “Heaven Can Wait.”
We don’t understand what all the hoopla is about, really. And why is he a little apologetic about it saying he got carried away. He really didn’t do anything. We don’t see Lil’ Wayne and Eminem apologizing for objectifying and disrespecting women. Seriously, parents are not OK with a little hanky panky of stage, but ok with misogyny. Give us a break!
We are very saddened that one of the greatest songs of the year (if not the one) has gotten a really tired video treatment. Melanie Fiona’s “Monday Morning” from her debut The Bridge, is being readied up as a single. The video for it (above) does not do the song any justice. This is one of the songs that has the power of mixing the upbeat and the melancholy together with a punch that will get you up in the morning. This video is just inexcusable and if the record label had any sense they would dish out some more moola for a new video.
Legend Cyndi Lauper and upcoming legendary child Lady GaGa have posed together for MAC cosmetics surgery (above). We love both but we can’t help but think that the money to hire the re-toucher could have been spared for charity. GaGa actually looks aesthetically good. That doesn’t happen much. But, we still love her.
This is for all the cons out there hating on Obama. Yes, some of the brightest people on this earth gave Obama one of the biggest and greatest prizes on earth. Now what?

You know how we love everything Finnish here, so we had to feature a new artist named Anna Abreu. She was a runner-up for Finnish Pop Idol and managed to conjure up enough of a fanbase to release three full-length albums. Her latest, Just A Pretty Face? includes this ballad. Enjoy.
We introduced Ellie Goulding back in July and then featured her music on compilations and on here. Well, she has gone and won the Brit award that is designed to propel lesser known new artists to great heights. This is the third year this award has been presented and previous winners are Florence + The Machine and Adele, so you know what kind of impact this has. We like her songs “Gun + Horses,” “Under The Sheets” and especially “Starry Eyed.” No word yet on when her album will debut. But, you can check her official page or MySpace profile.
