Yes, 12-time Grammy winner and too bad she didn’t release The Element of Freedom in time for the Grammy cut-off. But, 2010 will be festive for her. She has a strict work ethic and she will probably keep the singles coming well into next summer. The next will probably be her duet with Beyonce “Put It In A Love Song,” which is one of her worst songs but will probably get a bunch of attention because of the star power.
Rihanna racy and nude-ish for GQ
Premiere: Video: “I See You” by Leona Lewis
1Not big fans of the movie tie-in video, but Leona is trying out new things, so that’s all good. Meanwhile, the song is meh and it’s the theme song for a movie will will probably never watch Avatar.
Glasses and pearls…
1“For the nice girls who want to be naughty, and the naughty girls who want to be nice… not that you’re fooling anyone. This time the love/hate comes to you with a pearl chain… the pearl may be faux, but you best believe the effect is real. Encrusted in 600 hand applied swarovski crystals. like you expect anything else. Pearl findings on gold eyewear are gold, and pearl findings on black and silver eyewear are silver. Because we’re good to you like that.” Click here.
Premiere: Video: “3 (Director’s Cut)” by Britney Spears
One of the best dance songs of the year (along with “Jealous Of My Boogie” by RuPaul and “Get Sexy” by Sugababes with Keisha) is getting yet another video revamp. It’s quite sexy, you see, and it needs multiple visuals.
Rage Against The Machine to beat Joe McElderry for Christmas top spot
2The early numbers are in and, maybe, for the first time since the inception of X-Factor UK the winner will not get a number one for Christmas. According to early digital sales of the single Joe McElderry’s “The Climb” is trailing 10% in sales behind Rage Against The Machine’s “Killing In The Name”. This will surely be a dent into the X- Factor world and will probably teach Simon Cowell not to choose a Miley Cyrus song for a cover. We hope it happens, but it’s highly unlikely as teh physical single is not out yet and that’s what grandmas and little kids buy. So there might be a skew and unfortunately RATM might not win. You see, this makes the Christmas number 1 exciting again, instead of just a dead cert.
Must-Watch: Video: “Home” by Gemma Hayes
This one totally slipped under the radar from one of our favorite artists. Gemma Hayes has been nominated in the Irish music awards for this video for “Home” from her album The Hollow Of The Morning.
Madonna’s “Sticky & Sweet Tour” available for pre-order
1Both Amazon Germany and Japan have announced that the Sticky & Sweet tour DVD is available for pre-order. It comes as a CD and DVD, or both. The release is set to be February 10, 2010, which would vary in different countries of course. You can find the pre-order page at: スティッキー・アンド・スウィート・ツアー・ライヴ・フロム・ブエノス・アイレス(仮).
Premiere: Video: “I Saw Mummy Kissing Santa Claus” by Dionne Bromfield
Amy Winehouse’s protege is on her 3rd single as of now. This time around she is feeling a bit festive so she added this track to the release of the cover of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” in time for Christmas. We highly doubt this’ll do well as everyone and their mother has that track, but maybe “I Saw Mummy Kissing Santa Claus” will help.
Sheryl Crow releases deluxe edition of debut album
1Sheryl Crow’s monumental Tuesday Night Music Club just got the re-issue for it’s 15th anniversary . The album was named after the time of week Sheryl and her band got together to record the album. It’s one of the best albums one could ever recommend and it’s listed on the 1001 Albums you should hear before you die book. It’s the closest thing to Americana without being country. Yes, it’s that good and this time it comes with extra tracks like “Reach Around Jerk” and “Volvo Cowgirl.” Plus, some DVD footage. We loved the original so much we had to get it autographed. Click to see it.
David Byrne’s Imelda Marcos project gets some promo, track listing
1We posted about this back in April, and it’s about ready to be made public. David Byrne has finalized the project and it’s a double CD set that includes some of the best female musicians in the music world. It was supposed to be a musical about shoe-loving Imelda Marcos and her maid. A sort of cross-dialogue between the oppressor and the oppressed. We are fascinated by it and waiting for it’s February 23rd, 2010 release. Click below for the full tracklisting of Here Lies Love with the guest vocalists.
Tori Amos reveals more live material from “Midwinter Graces”
May we just lament on the fact that Tori Amos’s Midwinter Graces is a grower and probably one of the best seasonal album ever. She’s taken little ditties that everybody had forgotten and given them the Tori treatment. It’s lovely for the season. Click below to watch and listen to the live tracks from the album.

Little Boots covers “No More I Love You’s”
1Little Boots is capping off the year with a cover of a song made popular by Annie Lennox. Contrary to what other blogs are saying, “No More I Love You’s” is actually covers by Annie Lennox and not her song. It appeared of her covers album Medusa and it’s originally sung by The Lover Speaks. It murmured around the charts in 1986 and was then re-done by Annie Lennox in 1995 and peaked at #2. Good song.
Download: Dangerous Muse return with “I Want It All”
3Dangerous Muse are back with a great new single. Just when you thought that all they had to offer is “The Rejection,” a new song pops up. “I Want It All” is the new song and it’s on iTunes today. Download it from the UK or USA iTunes. The video will be up soon, too. Click below to listen to it.
Introducing… Daisy Dares You
1Daisy Dares You is a new singer with a song of the same title. The British singer is great fusion between Girls Aloud and Republica. Her voice is unique and her looks are a bit porcelain doll. The sound is a grower and, surely, with a little promo it will go a long way. Daisy Dares You has been selected as one of the BBC’s artists to look out for in 2010. Click here for her MySpace page.
Sugababes release “Santa Baby” as single
1OK, so there’s not much to he her but some typeface. But, this single comes at an interesting time when the Sugababes are no longer the originals, Amelle’s getting breakdowns left and right and their album’s been delayed. This single is called a “promo single” and it will be available only as a digital download and will not appear on their upcoming album Sweet 7. The trio are set to release their third official single “Wear My Kiss” on February 1st, 2010. It’ll be hard for them to win us over with this cover as it has been done before by Madonna and Kylie Minogue. But, we’ll see.

Elton John working on a dance album!
1
Spinner has just confirmed that Elton John is indeed working of a dance album. We can’t imagine Elton doing dance, the closest thing was “I’m Still Standing.” Anyway, here’s what they had to say: “Proving that you’re never too old to hit the dancefloor, it has been revealed Sir Elton John is set to release an album of dance music after working with Australian producers P’Nau. Best known for their work with Empire of the Sun, the production team are set to move Sir Elton into totally uncharted territory and in the process have sparked a furious bidding war between labels eager to release the material. A source close to the singer told the Sun: ‘Elton says he’s writing his most exciting new stuff for years — possibly decades. Working with P’Nau has got the creative juices flowing again. They have got a load of big companies sniffing around.’”
