Lady GaGa, Beyonce posters for 52nd Grammy Awards
3Ellie Goulding performs “Starry-Eyed” at Brit Awards launch
This is the first time we have seen Ellie Goulding grace the stage and this song is hard to perform as it’s filled with blips and studio edits, but she pulled it off nicely. We are excited to hear more from her debut, which is yet to be titled.
Secular donations for Haiti
1We wanted to post this earlier, but we were looking for secular charities to post so we had to do some looking around. The catastrophe that the island of Hispaniola has suffered it’s not a small one and the great tragedy has not passed, people need relief and aid at this time in order to survive or the country will delve into a civil war or massive unrest. At any rate, we went ahead a compiled a list of secular charities that might help out without discriminating.

Premiere: Video: “If We Ever Meet Again” by Timbaland featuring Katy Perry
We haven’t been paying attention to Timbaland’s second edition of Shock Value, but we are sure there are some good tunes on there. We are also not the hugest fans of Katy Perry, whom we call Stereotypia for her insistence on using gender stereotypes in most her songs. At any rate, this is not bad.
Corinne Bailey Rae album “The Sea” has leaked!
1Corinne Bailey Rae’s highly anticipated sophomore album The Sea has made the internet rounds today. The album was supposed to have a January 26th release, but yesterday it debuted as an online stream and now it’s all over. The Sea is a very personal album that deals with the death of her husband Jason Rae. A song on the disc is called “Are You Here?” was so personal that it was not mean to be included on the album but Corinne decided to add it. Other songs include the single “I’d Do It All Again,” which is about an argument she had with her husband prior to his death that serves as a testament of her love to him. Click here for more information on the leak. Keep in mind that it’s a webrip.

Don’t Quote Me, Vol. 322
Premiere: Video: “Resistance” by Muse
It’s the saddest day of the year!
3Maybe it’s because Boyzone released their first video without Stephen Gately? or perhaps because we are listening to some legendary drab? But, it had been scientifically proven – the third Monday of the year is called Blue Monday. Researchers in a Cardiff university is Wales came up with an equation that proves that. So, if you’re down, don’t worry about it, you’re just rolling with the times. Click here for more information.
Legendary: “Under The Weather” by KT Tunstall
1Eye To The Telescope catapulted KT Tunstall into the limelight with such hits as “Black Horse And The Cherry Tree” and “Suddenly I See,” but another single that didn’t get the kudos it deserved is “Under The Weather.” Perhaps because it’s a slow folk number that doesn’t beg for attention, but it surely is a highlight and somewhat of a forgotten gem.
Janet Jackson graces Gotham magazine cover
Janet Jackson’s on the wedding issue of Gotham magazine, which primarily targets New York’s most affluent residents and visitors. She promoting the sequel to Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married? unenthusiastically titled Why Did I Get Married, Too? and a supposed “new album.” By that they means the hodgepodge of a greatest hits collection with a freebie tacked to it. We hope that Janet gets to her senses soon and makes sure that 2010 is a year for new material.
Of the music, she says: ““It’s going to be a little different. The writing [on the album] is about life experiences. There’s a part of me that’s craving escapism, which is a sense of wanting to keep moving on with my work but also of coming to terms with reality. So I think it will be upbeat and light.””
Premiere: Video: “Gave It All Away” by Boyzone
1This has got to be one of the saddest videos we have seen in a while. The new single from boyband Boyzone contains the last vocals from band member Stephen Gately who passed away last year. The video is an ode to him and his vocals, which have become ubiquitous with the Boyzone sound as it is the most unique and astute voice. We wonder what the rest of Boyzone will do now.
Florence + The Machine finally hit top spot on album chart
Florence + The Machine have been the it-band of the last year. They debuted at #2 last year on the charts and were then kept off by Michael Jackson’s This Is It. But, they got their justice in 2010. This week their impressive debut album Lungs has managed to scoff off all the competition and land at #1. They deserve every bit of it. Click below for the top 10 run-down.
Vintage and rare footage of Aaliyah
Just in time for what have been Aaliyah’s 31st birthday this vintage and rare interview with the deceased soul diva has surfaced from abroad. As you can see, this is an introductory video to Aaliyah for her third and last album Aaliyah, which means it was released somewhere Aaliyah wasn’t that big. We miss her.

Alexandra Burke performs “Broken Heels” live
This second single from her debut album (or is it third after that Jeff Buckley cover?) is a grower. It also helps that she comes across as one with a great personality.

1Picture of Lady GaGa for Polaroid
5This picture of Lady GaGa has surfaced and many believe that it is part of her campaign as the Creative Director of polaroid. It’s a work of art, really, and we don’t know what exactly she is trying to market since the famous polaroid camera has been discontinued, but they may have something up their sleeves.
