The Ting Tings are still doing the promotion rounds for their first album We Started Nothing in the US. They are nominated for the Best New Artist category at the Grammy’s. So, some more buzz is building around them stateside. This song is old to us, but we can’t wait to listen to their new album Kunst.
VH1 to premiere new Michael Jackson video
VH1 and VH1 Classic are set to release a new Michael Jackson video for his single “They Don’t Care About Us” from his HIStory album. The original video showed Michael Jackson dancing and walking through the streets of Brazil. The new video is to contain live scenes and never-seen-before footage of Michael Jackson during his This Is It tour. The single is set to promote his latest greatest hits collection. That’s nice, but we need some new material!
Premiere: Video: “Me & The Devil” by Gil Scott-Heron
Just when you thought he had disappeared into vinyl, spoken word great Gil Scott-Heron comes out of hibernation to usher in the new decade with some of his wise wise wisdom. The beat sounds like mid-90s’ trip hop reminiscent of Massive Attack’s heyday. The song breaks into straight-up spoken word towards the end. After a 16-year hiatus, Gil Scott-Heron is back with a new disc titled I’m New Here set to be released on 8th of February 2010.
Christina Aguilera’s “Bionic” drops in April
1
Bionic, Christina Aguilera’s fourth full-length studio album of original material, was slated for a first quater release in 2010. Now, it’s in the beginning of the second quarter to make room for Xtina to put the finishing touches to her movie Burlesque with Cher. The movie looks promising, but the album sounds like it could be the opener of the decade for pop music. Let’s hope there are no delays and the single surfaces real soon with a well-made video.
Premiere: Video: “Highly Strung” by Orianthi featuring Steve Vai
1High off the heels her cameo in Michael Jackson’s farewell documentary This Is It, Orianthi works her way up people’s hearts with her impeccable ways around the electric guitar. This is a new single from the Australian talent and it’s a collaboration with Steve Vai and it’s from her second album Believe, which also includes the hit single “According To You.”

Mariah Carey to launch her own Champagne brand!
1Our very own MC is not letting a little slurred speech at an awards festival from raising her glass. Or could that be a publicity stunt in the wake of this news? Well, Mariah tweeted that she is, in fact, launching a brand of champagne named Angel Champagne (Rose). We don’t know if that means that it’s one going to be rosé or not. But, we loves that Mariah is branching out to the alcohol!
Jimmy Kimmel destroys Jay Leno
Seriously, we have no sympathy for Jay Leno and what he has done. His little diplomacy scheme to kick Conan O’Brien out, to weasel himself into something he had already promised to give. It just shows how inconsiderate and ultimately arrogant he is. Anyway, Conan is the voice of a new generation and NBC would be doing wrong to bring the old dog and the old tricks all at once.
Free Download: “We Shall Burn Bright” by Husky Rescue
One of our favorite ambient-pop bands is ready to release a new album. In a bid to promote it Husky Rescue have offered a guilt-free download of one of the tracks. The song is called “We Shall Burn Bright” and it’s a slight departure from their previous efforts but is equally as scrumptious. More news on the album coming up.

3Don’t Quote Me, Vol. 320
28 drinks later…
This is an alcoholic’s re-take on the British movie 28 Days Later, except it’s in Los Angeles instead on London and the enemy is no a sweeping plague, but some Jack Daniels, which can be worse.

3Must-Watch: Lady GaGa’s performance on The Oprah Winfrey Show
2We can’t believe we got our cyberhands on this video. This is Lady GaGa’s highly-touted appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show. She is looking as fierce as usual, the head piece is new and the ball and chain confirms her direction towards a more S&M look. She took over the world and this is just the cherry on top. Now, let’s hope this catapults “Bad Romance” onto the top spot on the Billboard charts so she doesn’t lose her winning streak, although we don’t want to break Mariah’s record, we figured Mariah broke enough records.
Official cover for Sugababes’ single “Wear My Kiss”
Nothing special here. Still haven’t gotten used to the 3.0 line-up as it contains everything mundane and generic about the Sugababes, a band that started with experimental pop and is currently doing producer hand-me-downs. This song is better than some of the rest we’ve been hearing recently. “Get Sexy: was monumental, but Keisha was there. The video for this track is what will give it the right push. Sweet 7 feels like a make-or-break album.
