The hardest working woman in showbusiness has decided that she will take a six month hiatus to concentrate on other things. Perhaps, a trip to Harbor Island? Or maybe a safari in Botswana? She probably will be working, but she wants to keep it quiet for at least six months so that her comeback single and album can get that big buzz and maybe that will make her first single a signified hit without being of quality as it did for “If I Were A Boy.”

She will release it independently and will work with Australian band Midnight Juggernauts. This smells good, we hope it tastes good.

Alternative pop duo the Ting Tings have revealed the title of their sophomore album. They are calling it Kunst. The band recorded the album in Berlin in a studio with a message parlour next to it named “Massage Kunst” and it was the inspiration for the album. “Kunst” means “art” in German. We can’t wait to hear it and we hope they win the Best New Artist Grammy.

M.I.A. has finally released some information about her third album to quench our thirst. The album is set to be dropped sometime before summer. She’s been busy working with Christina Aguilera and doing this third album (after supposed retirement). The third album will have a more melodic feel to it. More musical and “really odd,” according to her, which can be interpreted in both good and bad directions. She has leaked a snippet of a song called “Theres Space For Ol Dat I See.” Click here to listen to it. So, if her first album Arular was named after her father and her second Kala after her mother, what will this be called.

Natalie Merchant to release new album in March!
Since The House Carpenter’s Daughter was released in 2003 Natalie Merchant has been absent. We had the great privilege of seeing her live at Boston Pop a while back, but she only perform 4 songs and only one from her previous albums. Imagine! But, we love her to death as she is one of the greatest singers/songwriters of our generation and indie artists need as much support as they can. The new album will be out in March and it will be called Leave Your Sleep. She will follow that with a return to Lilith Fair. It’s the mid-90s’ all over again! 1You guys, we are not kidding, but this is the 4th (Yes, fourth!) video Erik Hassle has made for his single “Hurtful.” Check out the three others. We don’t get why he needs so many, expecially when the original one is so good. This one is a very futuristic airbrushed high-octane ordeal. Well, as long as he gets some attention for his superior album, then that’d good! By the way, it’s pronounced Hass-lay not “Hassle,” like the English word.

Ok, this one completely caught us by surprise because we can’t understand how that album got this far this fast. It’s not a good album, it barely hold a hit on it. Rated R was supposed to be replaced with a new album as soon as possible, but maybe the steep discount her record label was offering on Amazon helped spike album sales. But, Mariah’s Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel still hasn’t gotten to Gold certification and it was released before it. Oh well, that just goes to show you how sales have nothing to do with quality. (Update: Mariah’s album just went Gold, we guess all the sales results came in at the same time).
