Tonight is the night when the two network giants in the Middle East merge. Yes, February 1st marks this coming of two packages. You will have to search or scan your channels again for the new now-satellite channel to surface on your list. We are not really big TV heads, actually we don’t watch TV at all) but we stumbled upon this piece of news while looking for a place that would air the Grammy Awards. Apparently this big scale merger couldn’t bring us music’s biggest night! At any rate, tell me if there’s anything worth watching.

Corinne Bailey Rae performs “I’d Do It All Again” live
She really is better live. Her new album, The Sea, is subtle beauty but takes a little time to catch on. We are glad Annie Lennox approves.
Beyonce and Lady GaGa video “Telephone”
No, the headline does not have a grammatical error. We are simple using the word “video” as a verb. For this special little video that Beyonce is doing with Lady GaGa as a return-favor for giving one of her worst songs, “Video Phone,” a last-minute boost of star proportions. The both look as fabulous as usual. The GaGa is donning a yellow, not blonde, wig (or enough extensions to be a called a wig). And Beyonce is going for he slick look. Cute and all, except “Telephone” is not that great of a track if you ask us. Click below for more sneak peak pictures of the shoot.
Premiere: Video: “Parachute” by Cheryl Cole
Our #1 song of the week just got the video treatment. We were firstly Cheryl Cole skeptics. Mainly because we thought she was the least talented of Girls Aloud and also because we were routing for Nadine Coyle, but this is very good work. So, we have to admit that her album 3 Words grew on us and we love listening to it during airplane landings (which in our lingo means it’s quite good). This track is one of the best and the video’s all kinds of glam and mystery. We now officially give bathroom-attendant-beater Cheryl Cole the thumbs up!
Haiku Review: “Soldier Of Love” by Sade
1Legendary: “Rain” by Madonna
1This weather is asking for this song and a nice glass of Shiraz with a bunch of loved liberal ones around, isn’t it?
Lady GaGa wins Grammy Awards!
1OK, so this headline is a little bit early. But, we can’t wait for The Fame Monster to take over the Grammy like Bette Midler did as “The Grammy Ghost” back in the peak of her recording artist days. We have been fans of Lady GaGa since the beginning of 2008. We were surprised when she wasn’t nominated for “Best New Artist” Grammy last year, but we always felt the Grammys were out of touch anyway. But, this year she got some props. She will most definitely get one, at least in her field. But, the Grammys have surprised many so you’ll never know what happens. All that aside, her performance will undoubtedly be a great one. Elton John is rumored to guest star with her and that should be a treat. We will be watching a covering it for you. Also, we are very excited about Melody Gardot, too.
UPDATE: “The un-televised part of the Grammys is already underway and USA TODAY’s Edna Gundersen is reporting that Lady Gaga just won her first two Grammys, in dance recording for Poker Face and electronic/dance album for The Fame, her debut. By contrast, Madonna, whose Celebration lost to Gaga in dance recording, did not win her first non-video Grammy until 1998, 15 years after her debut album.” – USA TODAY

Details and cover for Gabriella Cilmi’s new album

Premiere: Video: “Hurricane Drunk” by Florence + The Machine
Florence Welch is still going strong with her album Lungs. This track, “Hurricane Drunk,” was just asking to be a single. As usual, the imagery and the fashion is up to par. This version is slightly different than the one on the album. We’ve noticed more melisma in this one.
