Slant-ruled notebook…
5You know, here at Loft965.com’s main headquarters we love some unconventional shiz. So, when we heard of a slant-ruled book we rummaged the internets for it. We love us a good skew and designer Matt Brown made it happen. Click here for more information.
Premiere: Video: “Saturday Night” by the Noisettes
2We forgot about the Noisettes for a hot minute, only because we heavily spun their album last year and gave it a break, but this brings it all back. One of the best songs on the album (and a single), get a new kind of video treatment. The band teamed up with Nokia, which gave a bunch of fans a new N95 and asked them to film random clips for the song. Then the clips were spliced together and this is the result.
Don’t Quote Me, Vol. 325
1This is just utterly ridiculous
3This is a video by a French singer named Maty Soul. It is probably one of the worst neosoul tracks we’ve ever heard. It’s just laughable how she tries to get intouch with her inner ‘fro by touting “Herbal Tea” and pretending like she is earthy and deep. The track is just a mess and a half with poorly strewn lyrics upon a done-and-out beat. This is so bad, it’s actually humorous.
Spice Girls musical on its way…
1One of the greatest pop bands to ever grace this red earth may be getting the West End treatment. The Spice Girls have just gotten the green light on a project that will catapult their hits into broadway classics by the same makers of ABBA’s Mamma Mia! Geri Halliwell has asked Judy Craymer twice to make a show out of the girls’ catalogue. Click here to read more.
Joss Stone performs on Conan’s show
1Her very badly promoted album and cry for emancipation from EMI, Colour Me Free, has some good tidbits in it. But, it is, by far, the worst of her album. Maybe because the record company meddled in it too much or she wants to release anything to rid her of her contract. At any rate, she remains unique in her delivery of her genre.
Official cover and first listen for Goldfrapp’s single “Rocket”
3Goldfrapp are set to debut their first single off of their new album Head First. “Rocket” is a return to form, but still a different direction. It’s less experimental dance and more club ready. The artwork’s a bit La Roux, though. Click below to listen to the track. (Thanks Jorge for the heads up).
Premiere: Video: “One More Lie” by Craig David
1Download: “Across The Sky” by Madonna featuring Justin Timberlake
2Madonna’s ill-fated and over-appreciated album Hard Candy has a couple of bangers floating around from its sessions still. Yes, a track produced by Timbaland titled “Across The Sky” has mysteriously leaked just in time for the promotion of her live CD/DVD set for the same album. It’s a little bass-heavy, as our friends over at HardCandyMusic describe it, but it’s actually better than most of the tracks on the album – and then Madonna’s vocals kick in. It sounds like something Justin Timberlake would do, which is probably why he is on the track. Click here for it through another site.
Watch Adam Lambert’s full appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show
2He’s really as charming as he is rocking. We love how he is unapologetic about anything and stays strong throughout the hatred. At any rate, Adam Lambert could be the greatest thing to ever come out of American Idol.
Official single cover for Lady GaGa’s “Telephone” featuring Beyonce
2We originally saw this picture from the leaked Fame Monster sessions, so there’s nothing new but a bunch of typeface. It’s still striking a while after. Our real problem with this is that there are so many great songs on the album (“Speechless,” “Alejandro” and “Monster”). But, she is rushing this release probably because Beyonce wants to go on her hiatus or something. At any rate, the video’ll be fabulous.
Heidi Montag talks about her 10 plastic surgeries
She’s 23 and she’s doing all that and that’s good for her if she really wants it, but she is a on tweak away from being Jocelyn Wildenstein. Her jaw is soar still, yeah that’s why she’s not singing. Still, we can’t get over the fact that she compared her album Superficial (aptly titled might we add) to Michael Jackson’s Thriller!

Soap made out of beer!
Yes, the headline’s what it is. There is a company making soap out of beer. And not any beer, a bunch of well known brands like Stella, Corona, Sam Adam and Guiness (Click below). We wonder how they smell. Click here to purchase!
Ellen Degeneres calls Dubai
1This brings the lols. What’s up with Rami knowing American Idol and Oprah Winfrey but not Ellen? And the over-use of the world “actually.” All-in-all, he was a sport, though.
“I’m Not Lazy, I’m Just Kuwaiti”
3The folks over at Mexican Elephant have come up with a great t-shirt slogan that might ring true to some and might infuriate others. But, in any case, it’s debatable social commentary and it comes in pink. So, what’s not to like. It’s for 18 KD ($63 approximately) and you can get it at their website. Also, go over to their Facebook page and become a fan for further updates.
