Happy Chinese New Year!

It’s the year of the tiger ya’ll. And it’s 4707. 2010 is the Year of the Tiger,
which is also known by its formal name of Geng Yin.

    Chinese calendar has been in continuous use for centuries. It predates the International Calendar (based on the Gregorian Calendar) in use at the present, which goes back only some 430 years. Basically, a calendar is a system we use to measures the passage of time, from short durations of minutes and hours, to intervals of time measured in days, months, years and centuries. These are fundamentally based on the astronomical observations of the movement of the sun, moon and stars.
    Days are measured by the duration of time of one self rotation of the earth. Months are measured by the duration of time of rotation of the moon around the earth. Years are measured by the duration of time it takes for the earth to rotate around the Sun

Calvin Harris starts own record label

“Calvin Harris will launch his own record label later this year, he has announced.

The Scottish producer confirmed details of the imprint today with details of the mysterious opening act, Mr Blink.

No further details have been revealed about the mysterious DJ (pictured), who plays in disguise and has been previously supported Harris.

Beyonce and Alicia Keys video for “Put It In A Love Song”

This little video is a snippet (or a sneak peak) of the video for Beyonce and Alicia Keys’ songs “Put It In A Love Song.” Beyonce has suggested that the video be shot in Egypt, probably because of her recent visit to Port Ghalib. But, we don’t know what what have happened to them strutting around in these outfits. So, it was shot in Brazil.

New video for Gorillaz song “Stylo”

This is just a little sneak peak of a snippet of what’s to come from former Blur frontman’s side project Gorillaz. The song didn’t pass with us, but we are not giving hope of other singles. The album Plastic Beach is coming on March 8th, 2010 and “Stylo,” which features Bobby Womack and Mos Def, is the first single from it.

Groove Armada’s new album “Black Light” has leaked!

Dance gurus Groove Armada’s new album Black Light has made the internet rounds no so much as a leak, but because it was released in Australia approximately a month before its European date, which is really not a smart move considering Groove Armada are not that much of a mainstream act. Being in the Spice Girls turned out to be more of a curse and blessing to Melanie C’s solo career. The Sporty one is responsible for penning some great pop songs in our time, but she never got the credit she deserves because of her spicy past. This track is from her debut album of the same name and is pure bliss.
