Rihanna already working on 5th album

Rihanna is basking in the success of “Rude Boy” as it enters the top ten. But, that is not stopping her from working on new material for a fifth album allegedly set for release sometime this year. She wants to return to pop and ditch the hard look. One of the producers Sean Garrett explains: “I got a record on Rihanna’s new album. She’s got some surprises. I gave her a humongous radio record. It’s just so infectious. It’s about getting past any drama and just being happy to be alive. It’s an encouraging record. It feels great and it’s got great tempo.”

Kate Nash names album “My Best Friend Is You”

1

Kate Nash has finalized details for her eagerly-awaited second album. After a little teaser with “I Just Love You More,” which many thought was too punk less nashy, Kate is back to cheeky form with her first single “Do Wah Doo,” which has gotten a tiny video treatment over at her website. Also, the exciting news is that she called the album My Best Friend Is You. The name is very different than Birds, but we love her so much we accept anything… except “I Just Love You More.”

Sugababes might lose their name!

1

The battle for the Sugababes’ name is on.  Ousted member Keisha Buchanan is taking to the courts and everyone is wondering, first, why she decided to do so and, second, why does she think the name is attached to her and not Mutya Buena or Siobhan Donaghy. But, she is working hard on the new album. Let’s hope the solo matter with overshadow Amelle.

Video Premiere: “Rocket” by Goldfrapp

Goldfrapp’s first video from the highly-anticipated new album Head First has surfaced and its all kinds of bubbleglam. “‘Rocket’ is a synthpop song performed by British duo Goldfrapp. The song was written and produced by Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory for the duo’s fifth album Head First. It will be released as the album’s first single on 8 March 2010. There was a music video shot to accompany the song. To promote the single release, the duo is going to perform the song on the Friday Night with Jonathan Ross TV show on 26 March 2010.” – From Wikipedia

Marina + The Diamonds should reissue “I Am Not A Robot”

Muchly-hyped and poorly-albumed, if that’s a word, Marina & The Diamonds is. The band, or her to be specific, low on good material from the album The Family Jewels. The only good track is the buzz single already released with a video “I Am Not A Robot,” which is sad because the next single will be make or break. Let’s hope they/she release it.
