Video Premiere: “Telephone (Short Version)” by Lady Gaga featuring Beyoncé

1

Lady Gaga’s collaboration with Beyonce, “Telephone,” has gotten the cut. First because 9 minute plus video was too long for airing. Second, MTV has allegedly banned the video because it was too suggestive. This is the same channel that permits homophobic and sexist videos to air. But a little female empowerment in pop is not OK. It’s funny how MTV thinks it still has a clout in what shapes the pop world. At any rate, this is the shorter version.

We love Social City

1

Social City is a new kind of level-up game. In this Facebook application, you are the mayor or some grass and you have to turn into a swinging metropolis. You have to also expand the population by both building accommodation and creating leisure places (a things some corners of the world haven’t figured out yet). The application is very addictive and time-consuming. Caution is advised! Click to add it.

Zebra cleans out hippopotamus mouth!

1

In a rare safari shot, a tourist captured the image of a zebra cleaning out a hippopotamus’s mouth. Hippopotamuses are very dangerous and are the leading cause for human deaths by animals in many African countries (Yes, we were shocked when we went to a South African resort and the guide told us to stay away from the water as a hippo can cut you into half). This is a new kind of relationship as megafauna usually rely on smaller animals like rodents or birds to clean out their teeth/mouth, like the case of crocodiles. Or these two could be just making out. Inter-species love is not unrequited anymore. Erm, did we just say that? Interesting, we look forward to Madagascar!

Ellie Goulding messes up live performance of “Starry Eyed” on Alan Carr

She might have just had a number one album in the charts, but that won’t help her from getting the jitters. She sounded off on this live performance of her single “Starry Eyed.” But, it has to be said that the track is very vocally complicated, with blips, echoes and twisted edits. So, singing it live is not an easy task.
