The battle for the Sugababes’ name is on. Ousted member Keisha Buchanan is taking to the courts and everyone is wondering, first, why she decided to do so and, second, why does she think the name is attached to her and not Mutya Buena or Siobhan Donaghy. But, she is working hard on the new album. Let’s hope the solo matter with overshadow Amelle.

Video Premiere: “Rocket” by Goldfrapp
Goldfrapp’s first video from the highly-anticipated new album Head First has surfaced and its all kinds of bubbleglam. “‘Rocket’ is a synthpop song performed by British duo Goldfrapp. The song was written and produced by Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory for the duo’s fifth album Head First. It will be released as the album’s first single on 8 March 2010. There was a music video shot to accompany the song. To promote the single release, the duo is going to perform the song on the Friday Night with Jonathan Ross TV show on 26 March 2010.” – From Wikipedia
Marina + The Diamonds should reissue “I Am Not A Robot”
Muchly-hyped and poorly-albumed, if that’s a word, Marina & The Diamonds is. The band, or her to be specific, low on good material from the album The Family Jewels. The only good track is the buzz single already released with a video “I Am Not A Robot,” which is sad because the next single will be make or break. Let’s hope they/she release it.

Sharleen Spiteri covers “Xanadu”
2This is probably going to end up on her SongBook covers album, which is slated to be her sophomore album. We don’t think a sophomore album of covers is a good idea especially if your first record didn’t really hit the mark. At any rate, it’s an interesting choice of a cover.
Jill Scott and Maxwell to tour together
1Neosoul greats Jill Scott and Maxwell are joining forces for a 20-date tour around North America. The tour is set to highlight the best of their future album (Maxwell’s blackSUMMER’Snight and Jill Scott’s Words & Sounds Vol. 4: Light Of The Sun). The tour is probably the second most anticipated tour of the year for us after the resurgence of Lilith Fair. We are excited!
