What a jackass! Read the story in the papers- the girl’s mother brought her to the show with a gigantic sign saying, ‘whitney let me sing for you’, her brother walked her up to the stage and whitney saw her and brought her on stage- whitney sang the song later in the set
Whitney is the greatest. It was awesome for Whitney to allow the young girl to sing. Whitney looks great. It was so cute when Whitney pulled the hair away from the little girl’s face. Wish you were coming to the USA. Maybe I should warm my voice up and be prepared!!! What a great moment!!!
A seven-year-old girl wowed Whitney Houston after joining her on stage for her final Dublin show.
Zena Donnelly belted out Whitney’s anthem ‘The Greatest Love of All’ in front of thousands in the 02 on Tuesday night.
Whitney was clearly impressed by the chirpy red-head’s voice, telling the rapt audience: “Good job, couldn’t have done better myself.”
The unexpected opportunity to sing with her idol came when Zena, a pupil at Scoil Lorcan in Monkstown, went down in front of the stage on the last night of Whitney’s three-night Dublin stopover.
Zena’s 11-year-old brother Ryan had made a giant poster saying ‘I love you Whitney, can I sing with you? Zena XX’.
“I escorted her down to the front, hoping to get a shot or two of her in front of Whitney. Security were asking us to return to our seats when Whitney suddenly saw Zena’s poster and asked ‘You wanna sing with me?’ explained mum, Darina Ni Chuinneagain.
“Whitney took Zena by the hand to the centre of stage and double-checked that was the song she wanted to sing.
“Whitney started the song and when Zena heard the opening bars, away she went and at the end, she got a big hug from Whitney and a standing ovation from the crowd.”
Relaxing at home last night with her dad Declan and brother Ryan, Zena was bubbling over with excitement at having sung on stage for her idol.
Zena said: “I wasn’t nervous singing for Whitney because I love that song.”
Zena’s next big date is May 15 when she makes her First Holy Communion.
