Must-Watch: Walt Disney collaborates with Salvador Dali

This film is a collaboration between Disney films and Spanish surrealist painter Salvador Dali. It was started in 1945 and only saw the light of day in limited release recently. Here’s the gist from Wikipedia: “Destino (the GalicianSpanishPortuguese and Italian word for “destiny“) was storyboarded by Disney studio artist John Hench and artist Salvador Dalí for eight months in late 1945 and 1946; however, financial concerns caused Disney to cease production. The Walt Disney Company, then Walt Disney Studios, was plagued by many financial woes in the World War II era. Hench compiled a short animation test of about 18 seconds in the hopes of rekindling Disney’s interest in the project, but the production was no longer deemed financially viable and put on indefinite hiatus.

M.I.A. debuts new single and cover art “Born Free”

M.I.A. is not one for the faint-hearted. The singer has just released the sleeve to her song “Born Free.” The artwork features a picture of what looks like the extrajudicial murder of some Tamil people by Sri Lankan forces. Plus, an image of an unavailable website, maybe to insinuate blocked information or sites. A very striking cover, indeed. Now, we wish we can say the same thing about the song.

Cher working on new rock album

Cher is currently working on a rock album for 2010 and is busy in the studio trying to put it together. Her rep confirms that the new album will be released later this year and will include two versions of the album. The standard version has 14 songs while the Deluxe Edition will include 19. Her rep says: “This is going to be by far the most successful album Cher has recorded in her 45 year career.”
