This is one of the moments when you sit back and marvel at the glory of the internet and how it changed our lives (or maybe we are saying that because we haven’t had internet in 2 weeks now in the middle of the African jungle, who knows?).
Robyn releases “Fembots” as first single
The first single off of Robyn’s Body Talk (the first installation in the three album set) is “Fembots,” we featured it a while back and didn’t think it’s that great. But, the lyrics are direct and the beat is catchy but it doesn’t satisfy our thirst for Robyn, but with 3 albums along the way, she can do as she pleases!
Video Premiere: “Sparks” by t.A.T.u
The Russian faux-Sapphic duo is still at it and it ain’t all bad.

Monica performs “Everything To Me” live on the Lopez show
Ok, here it is: we take back everything we said about both Monica’s reality show and album (both titled Still Standing). We have given it a couple of spins and we think the album is great and, frankly, we can’t stop listening to it. There are so many hits on there and it fill a void in R&B that has been missing for a long time. She went back to basics better than Christina Aguilera and delivered an ode to 90s’ with a modern twist. No one could have done that unless it was Brandy, Monica or the late Aaliyah. Pure loveliness!
Official cover art of Kelis’ “Fleshtone”
Kelis is back and it’s not that she is jumping onto the Gaga bandwagon with her visual, it’s just that she is relaunching the original flame-haired fashion forward Kelis that she sacrifice for mainstream US success.Remember the grace of Wanderland? Or the dirty beat of the under-appreciated “Good Stuff.” Well, now she is back with this late disco looking artwork for her latest album and emancipation from mediocre beats and Nas. It’s like a marriage between Shalamar and Grace Jones. We hope that beats can suffice.
Video Premiere: “Secret Love” by Lee Ryan
We weren’t big fans of Blue because we were too old at that point for a boyband (although we’ve come to realize that there is no such thing as too old for pop music) and also we were away from the UK spectrum of beats. But, we always thought Lee Ryan had a special voice that gave goose bumps especially on the lick in “Breathe Easy.” We loved it so much we bought his first album and still think that some tracks on there like “Turn Your Car Around” should have gotten more props. Now, he is back with his second album Confessions (which could use a better title) and a new video for the lead single “Secret Love.” He’s going for a more electronic sound and it’s working. At least to us. He kind of looks like Sam Sparro in this video. That’s actually a compliment to Sam Sparro.
Kate Nash’s new album “My Best Friend Is You” has leaked!
2Kate Nash’s eagerly awaited second album My Best Friend Is You has leaked all over the face of the internet. The album’s supposed to bring an edgier and punkier Nash to the forefront without alienating any of Birds fans. This is bound to hurt her chart performance. Click here to investigate the detrimental leak.
Video Premiere: “Hands Tied” by Toni Braxton
When it rains, it pours! Toni Braxton is back in full force with this new album titled Pulse. This is the third video from it and it is release to coincide with “Make My Heart” so the fans of both slow Toni and dance Toni can get a treat. Lovely. She’s always been on of the best looking people in the industry and age hasn’t taken its toll.

3How to increase your attention span…
2Official artwork, tracklisting and release date of Scissor Sisters new album “Night Work”
The Scissor Sisters are ready to grace us with their third full-length album Night Work. After a minor sophomore slump with Ta-Dah, the filthy, yet gorgeous band is back with this sleazily appropriate album cover of what looks like Jake Shear’s clenched bum. It’s not always clenched you see, so it’s a special occasion, we mean that as the highest of compliments. Really. Anyway, the album is bound to have some nasty beats and unforgettable taglines. The fist single will be “Fire With Fire” and the album will hit stores and your online mp3 website June 20th, 2010. Click below for the track listing.
Video Premiere: “The Flood” by Katie Melua
1A supposes return-to-form with Ray Of Light guru William Orbit has us reeling off of the new single “The Flood” from her fourth album The House.

Legendary: “Let’s All Chant” by The Michael Zager Band
This disco song is oft left out of compilations of the era. Mainly because it was by a one hit wonder, but it’s equally as important and “Le Freak.” It is as smooth as it is dancey. It is also the first recording of the now-overused pop chant “oooh-oooh!” This is some amazing disco music. “Your Body, My Body, Everybody, Move Your Body!”
New Sex and the City 2 Poster
Video Premiere: “Make My Heart” by Toni Braxton
What a great little comeback video that incorporated many types of dance. From step to voguing to modern to breakdance. It’s a nice little simple number with a great dance video. We hope this gets the attention it deserves and the mesh catsuit becomes a staple of 2010. Unlikely, but deserved.
Conan O’Brien will return to TV
Introducing… Holly Miranda
1Holly Miranda is a new talent with a very unique voice. The above clip is her rendition of Lauryn Hill’s “X Factor.” She has a new album out. It’s called The Magician’s Private Library. This is what Wikipedia has to say about her: “Holly Miranda is an American singer-songwriter and musician. Besides being trained in piano, Holly is a self-taught guitar and trumpet player. In 2001, She recorded “High Above The City”, a 20-track solo album available only at shows. In the fall of 2003, Holly met and teamed up with Alex Lipsen, producer and keys player. Glee flash mob!
