Christina Aguilera clarifies Lady Gaga controversy!

1

Dear Fans,

I would like to take a moment to clarify something that has been brought to my attention this morning. It is very easy for comments to be taken out of context and create unnecessary drama-especially between us women. So I would like to tell you all directly so my words can not be misconstrued to sell someone else’s story…I have absolutely nothing against Lady Gaga or any other female artist in this business. I think she is great, and I appreciate any woman fearless enough to go against the norm. She has earned her success with hard work and a clear focus and I have nothing but respect for that.
There is room for all of us on everyone’s iPods.

This is not the first time I have been unfairly pitted against another female artist but it will be the last time I comment on the matter.

“Can’t hold us down….”

With love,
C/X”

“[Madonna] subverts everything for her own gain. I went to see her London show and it was all so dour and humourless. She surpasses even Joan Crawford in terms of megalomania. Which in itself makes her a kind of dark, gay icon… I love Kylie, she’s the anti-Madonna. Self-knowledge is a truly beautiful thing and Kylie knows herself inside out. She is what she is and there is no attempt to make quasi-intellectual statements to substantiate it. She is the gay shorthand for joy.” – Rufus Wainwright

The Gaga camp has allegedly just announced that the video for the third single from The Fame Monster, “Alejandro,” will début to the world on May 25th, 2010. That’s next Tuesday. We still think the song sounds like Ace Of Base’s remake of “Don’t Turn Around.” But, as with Gaga, the video will be fabulous and it stars Mr. Walliams of Little Britain fame. Also, Lady Gaga is showing some nipple action and frolicking with a snake. A two-eyed one. Let’s hope for the bestest!

Arab-American wins Miss USA pageant 2010!

Rima Fakih, a Muslim Lebanese-American, has been crowned Miss USA 2010. She is from Dearborn, Michigan. This is a first in pageantry and most people will probably regard this as some sort of accomplishment. Well, pageants are not really scales of social progression. In fact, they are a constant reminder that we live in a misogynistic world filled with double standards and female objectification. At any rate, we wonder if it was politically motived or just by chance or luck. Click below for the crowning.
