Lady Gaga’s new video for “Alejandro” is here!

6

The Gaga camp has allegedly just announced that the video for the third single from The Fame Monster, “Alejandro,” will début to the world on May 25th, 2010. That’s next Tuesday. We still think the song sounds like Ace Of Base’s remake of “Don’t Turn Around.” But, as with Gaga, the video will be fabulous and it stars Mr. Walliams of Little Britain fame. Also, Lady Gaga is showing some nipple action and frolicking with a snake. A two-eyed one. Let’s hope for the bestest!

Arab-American wins Miss USA pageant 2010!

Rima Fakih, a Muslim Lebanese-American, has been crowned Miss USA 2010. She is from Dearborn, Michigan. This is a first in pageantry and most people will probably regard this as some sort of accomplishment. Well, pageants are not really scales of social progression. In fact, they are a constant reminder that we live in a misogynistic world filled with double standards and female objectification. At any rate, we wonder if it was politically motived or just by chance or luck. Click below for the crowning.

Don’t Quote Me, Vol. 386

“They can say,
Anything they want to say,
Try to bring me down,
But I will not allow anyone to succeed hanging clouds over me,
And they can try
Hard to make me feel that I,
Don’t matter at all,
But I refuse to falter in what I believe or lose faith in my dreams

‘Cause there’s,
There’s a light in me,
That shines brightly,
Yes, They can try,
But they can’t take that away from me
From me”

- Mariah Carey on “Can’t Take That Away (Mariah’s Theme)” from Rainbow

Legendary: Mariah Carey sings “I Don’t Wanna Cry” in Tokyo

2

Mariah doesn’t sing this song anymore. She just put a lid on this #1 track and it has somewhat lost some of its glory in the mainstream world. But some Gen X’s still remember this as one of the pinnacles of Mariah’s career and it’s still lovely and timeless. Here you see a young Mariah Carey on her first official world tour, this was performed in Tokyo where Mariah happens to have the best selling album of all time! Her #1′s went over really well there. Look at this and tell me if Beyonce / Rihanna would be here without her. Thanks to our favorite lamb friend for the recommendation.

Celebrating 20 years of Mariah Carey in music!

Don’t expect a long essay from us on MC just because we are die-hard lambs  (we will defend the diva to death, unless she effs up). This is a time to reflect on one of the most prolific and talented pop stars of our time. One that was to be brought down by many forces of music snobbery, industry chauvinism, stealing young-ins, unimaginative critics and heterofascism, but managed to survive and out-sell everyone. Yes, it’s our one and only Mimi. Often imitated never duplicated. She’s eternally 12, you know. And if you don’t like it, we can show you the door. Lym!

Video Premiere: “Fire With Fire” by Scissor Sisters

When the Scissor Sisters first came out there was no one like them. They took 2005 by storm and pushed rock music back to glam. They’re beats were fresh and dance-worthy. Now, we get to settle for this. A song that sounds like a b-side from The Killers last’s album sessions. You’d expect a robust dance anthem, but no. We hope there are great tracks on Night Work, otherwise we are not buying it.
