Björk releases 7-track EP with Dirty Projectors

Björk and Brooklyn rock band Dirty Projectors have revealed the details of a 20-minute, seven-song EP to be released this week. Entitled Mount Wittenberg Orca, the songs were originally written for a joint benefit concert they performed last year. The material for the collaboration was inspired by family of whales that DP member Amber spotted off the Northern California coast and 100% of the sales proceeds will go toward the National Geographic Society’s marine conservation efforts.

Introducing… The National

The National are a Brooklyn-based indie rock band formed in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1999. The band’s lyrics are written and sung by Matt Berninger in a distinctive baritone. The rest of the band is composed of two pairs of brothers: Aaron and Bryce Dessner and Scott and Bryan Devendorf. Aaron plays guitar, bass and piano, Bryce plays guitar, Scott plays bass and guitar, and Bryan is the drummer. Padma Newsome, from sister band Clogs, often contributes strings, keyboards, and other arrangements and instrumental flourishes. The band’s influences range from Bruce Springsteen to Joy Division.

Beyonce working on a new album!

The-Dream has let loose the fact that he is in the studio working with Beyonce on a new project. It seems the hiatus won’t be that long and Beyonce will probably release her album sometime around Solange’s which is not fun. He is also working on Rihanna’s and Kasha’s. Let’s hope he doesn’t work on the new MC.

Madonna and daughter Lourdes launch Macy’s clothing line “Material Girl”

Lourdes is getting her piece of the pie from Madonna’s empire and putting her first leg in the business. The daughter is launching a line with Macy’s boringly yet aptly titled Material Girl. Let’s hope Lourdes prefers the studio to the designing table. Click below for the poster.
