Nelly Furtado is three English albums in and she is already to catch the Christmas buying spree with what looks like a rushed re-packaging of some of her greatest hits. She has enough number to fill a whole album, but two more albums would have been nice. Let’s hope it has a new single on it and some more tracks that we didn’t hear, preferably not with Timbaland and not in a language we can’t comprehend. We heard the song “Night Is Young” and we hate.
A few years back Ingrid Michaelson wrote a song by the name of “Parachute” out “in the universe” and someone from the Cheryl Cole camp picked it up and turned it into a big hit in the UK. Well, now Ingrid has reinstated her faith in the song she orphaned and has done her own version. Not only that, but she is also releasing it as a single with a video soon. Regret or cashing in? Can we just tell you how happy we are that we keep getting bits and pieces of news or appearances by Fiona Apple recently because we love everything she has done and quiet frankly live and breathe partially just to listen to that fourth album. So exciting!
The thing about this artwork is that the first single off the album is a strong and very catchy, but everything on this cover from the design to the pose to the typeface to the fashion is complete and utter crap. It looks like the work of a Photoshop 101 student. Not happening and will forever mar the album even if it is of the same or higher quality as its predecessor 3 Words. The name Messy Little Raindrops is just a laugh and not in a good way.
The direction Rihanna is taking on this album, LOUD, is the right one unlike her mishap Rated R. We are glad she is back on track a playing more with some dance beats. Let’s hope the album has more hot numbers. Continue reading
Antony & The Johnsons’ new offering hasn’t been downloaded by us as of yet, but it’s coming soon and we will give it a spin or two before it gets us in a depressed rut. But, for what it’s worth this track is dreary enough to reinstate our beliefs that the band has mastered the art of suicidal glum.
Robyn‘s new single will be out soon and something tells us that she will be following the same formula as before with the first offering. Just like “Hang With Me” was an acoustic half-OK track on Body Talk PT1 and then transformed into a robust number on Body Talk PT2, we anticipated that “Indestructible” (although string than “Hang With Me” as a ballad) will do the same on Body Talk PT3. Let’s hope for the best. Still, anything Robyn touches is gold nowadays, so we are not too worried.
This is pure stereotype, but it’s interesting, This guy does 24 different English accents. He is best at the UK and Ireland accents, but gets some of the others on point.
